Author | I am pretty certain there is a bug (or a game design fault) with Reanimation |

As seen in this battle, I was in a match for the minor tournament. Up against an Elf player I already figured I would lose but I played my hardest... and I actually managed to get the upper hand.
The enemy lord gets a nice lucky shot on my Ghosts(7) causing it to die (by lucky shot, I literally mean the games luck or morale system so it was a good hit). Noticing that I have enough mana for one more reanimation I decide that I will need the ghosts for some more support as my vampires will be able to clean the rest up with the help from the ghost and that weakening my vampires further would be a waste (and could cost me the game).
Little to my knowledge I discovered an irritating little bug (or design flaw, I am not certain which). When I hovered my spell over top of the Ghosts "corpse" (my second ghost was underneith an enemy unit and so out of range). Instead of my Ghosts(7) being resurrected however, it resurrects the unit right under it... a Zombie(1).
What is this? That literally cost me the game, even though the enemy had the chance to get lucky (2 luck and 2 morale) and kill my ghosts anyways in that case he would have gotten the game fair and square. But I lost literally due to a design flaw... atleast giving me the ability to choose which one would help immensely but making it "the first enemy unit to die on the square" is just plain bad game design (if that was the intent). There are already enough penalties associated with ressurecting troops (large mana cost, lowered health, can't be done if enemy unit is on top of unit you wish to ressurect and lowered morale for all units if not Necro) but now I also have to choose which units I bring back to life solely based on whether it died on that specific square first? That's just stupid. I might as well have just brought the Vampires back (which in of itself came with a large risk of him being killed quickly, as his health would have been well below 17 health).
I don't expect to be reimbursed in any way, nor do I want my opponent punished by having him lose the match... I just want the development team to know that this "glitch" is in this game as I don't believe that they intentionally put that in there.
It's annoying and puts even more straign on Necro factions... especially for new players. | it is not a glitch im afraid,, yes it is very anoying if you dont know about this but,
it works like this when you raise your dead and there is more than 1 dead body of your creatures, then it will allways raise the creature with the most health.
just try to keep this in mind for future battles | Zombies had higher total health than ghost,so they get raised instead | @3: is higher total health? not higher unit health? | https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1923781
Q.6.18: Two undead creatures perished on one tile. Which one will be raised?
A: The creature that had more HP per unit at the moment of death. The number of creatures in stack does not matter. E.g.: Zombies (17 HP) and ghosts (8hp) perished on one tile. Zombies will be raised. | closed by ElfPride (2013-08-22 05:36:10) |
