AuthorTop Modern Rock Songs (People's Opinion)
Do share some rock songs that got you goosebumps while first listening to them
Little black submarines from The black keys.
Outside from Staind
Raised on rock from Scorpions
Stormy may day from ACDC

Could widen up if you didn't put the Modern word there.
thnx..the one from staind is gr8..that riff

i wrote modern on purpose..else some one would have suggested led zeplin,or even beatles..who knew

i meant the songs from the genre of bands like TDG,MCR,RHCP..etc
ACDC

what is wrong with its vocalist..??
What's wrong with their vocalist is that he's dead.
oh..but i meant his voice..

the music is too good..but his voice is..well..irritating.:/
What's wrong with their vocalist is that he's dead.

LMAO!

his voice is..well..irritating.
you'll get used to it after sometime :)

I will suggest something thats mostly underground, Prog Rock.

got you goosebumps First time I listened to Invisible Men by OSI and their album Blood is fantastic as well.
After Pink Floyd, prog rock mostly went underground. )
One more :

For Nothing by OSI.
Kinda depressing so listen if you want to. I stopped listening to this over a year ago because it was too damn depressing. (

Also their albums are quite ... other worldly. When you first listen them, they sound gibberish but they seem to have some meaning after you listen them later.

If you aren't into mainstream "crap rap" like Kanye West, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Drake etc then I suggest Aesop Rock. According to statistics, his vocabulary is better than Shakespeare's. Similar case with him When you first listen them, they sound gibberish but they seem to have some meaning after you listen them later.

I suggest "None shall pass" and "Zero Dark Thirty" by Aesop Rock.

But I am guessing you won't like it. There are too many metaphors.
From Wikipedia,

"Lyrics are generally seen as being both complex and abstract while others dismiss them as verbose. His frequent use of homonyms exacerbates this. Critics state that the use of words can be so detailed that it becomes difficult to determine their originally intended meaning. The lyrics are sometimes inspired by events which have occurred in Bavitz's personal life and are thus naturally prone to subjective interpretation by outsiders."

If you're into Underground music, I have more artists. Quite frankly I got tired of mainstream crap because the theme is always same : Love, Women, Cars, "Personal Problems" which are mostly not getting their welfare checks on time while still bragging "I got cars, I got mo' money etc"
And mainstream modern metal, heavy metal is kinda edgy. Idk what to expect when bands like Linkin Park call themselves something "Nu Metal"

This is my personal opinion/taste. :)
i may grab your taste some day.:)

but at the moment i'm more into alternate rock..say i'm a big fan of TDG, Rise against ,Muse, Paramore, Finger eleven

could you suggest something around this genre.?
at the moment i'm more into alternate rock

You mean songs like Creep by Radiohead? Like gloomy type ones? Characterized by Distorted Guitar etc?

If yes, I don't listen to that because I find them weird and they kinda sing like they are suicidal.

"I wish I was special..so very special,
but I'm a creep."

If I saw someone listening/singing to this, I'd probably give their name to suicide watch or report them to police for being...a creep.
However if you're into that, I strongly suggest U2. It is quite famous and critically acclaimed on reddit. People there are always suggesting U2. Don't know if that is a circlejerk or actually a suggestion. I'd say give it a try. )

Good song by them )
Creep by Radiohead

not the songs of that type.,.
i stay away from negative media..besides i never heard radiohead..

i meant the ones with strong pleasing vocals and a good piece of guitarwork

i am already a huge fan of U2..could u suggest some more.?
For example :-

Here without you- Three doors down

kryptonite- three doors down

i have been told by my brother that i hum the second one during sleep..i liked it that much
I told you OSI but you didn't listen. Try Radiologue, Terminal, Blood and Christian brothers. You'll love it. Excellent instrumental and pleasing voice.

Instrumental of Terminal is mesmerizing.

i stay away from negative media..besides i never heard radiohead..
