Battle Of The Month - December (voting time!)

AuthorBattle Of The Month - December (voting time!)
post 11 corrects that
1. Greyfalcon - it was really good battle , i think i would've play a bit differently with seduced lizards and maybe move horses to kill BW because Dominion of fire was insanely strong in this battle. Other than that it was really well played game. 1st place.

2. Mycroft - this is very nice to see not "casual mage wizard" , probably you did choose defensive wizards because of gift boxed? with those defensive classes were really strong. Anyway about the battle its was completely "stomp" in my eyes once you cleared tempts seduction out of your genies with dispersion it was kinda game over to your enemy , doesn't matter what he or you did, you just win , but well played. 2nd place.
I vote for Mycroft :)
last day for votes
can't announce a winner with only 6 votes
Here is my order of choices, not including my own battle.

Milkshot - I think it was a good battle, I concur 'Angel of Death' on suggesting that HK could be ignored after killing wardens and chargers. Usually you kill Mage(With debuff effects like dom fire etc),Debuffer,Buffer, fighter in this order in a balanced match. So the Dwarfs didn't do wrong in my opinion. The only thing they lacked was something to keep their tribal spirit in check. Several successful traps and bad morale really worked against them.

Greyfalcon - It was a real close battle in begining, if anything were to go a little more in favor of the loosing side on first turn ( some more lucky hits or morale boosts) the result would have been different. But overall nice efforts by both side, and hey for someone to win, someone else has to loose, so is PVP.

Mycroft - Third place because it was better then the last one in my opinion. Otherwise the gifts make real huge impacts.

Agent_004 - The Demon really made a mistake arranging his troops as he did against dom of fire and mass debuffer. What else the enemy team could wish for against someone who has to use first turn for gating and give them a chance to use their debuffs on almost all troops in one shot. Although sworks and agent004 did a real good job in using the opportunity in fullest. And the fear attack trigger on nightmare really ended all chances he had, specially because of where nightmare went to.
I think it's ok to have debate? Usually you kill Mage(With debuff effects like dom fire etc),Debuffer,Buffer, fighter in this order in a balanced match.

Normaly I would agree with you, when a basic principle rule can be applied.
Rule n 1. Does the enemy could be killed before he spent all of his mana? Or could be he get killed before casting all main buffs/debuffs on the most important units from the match?

If the answer is no to any of these, then the buffer/debuffer shouldn't be in the priority list, since nothing could be done to prevent his role/goal on the battlefield.

Rule n 2. Is the debuffer/buffer actually is the most dangerous opponent in the match? Or there is someone that could benefit from not being killed first? Such as tribal, charmed elf, red demon...

If the answer is also no, then it shouldn't be the priority on the match, mainly if rule 1 cannot be accomplished.

On that match, targeting the HK first broke both of rules, which lead to their ultimately defeat. IMO, it was a very poor decision.
However, the HK wardens and chargers could had a major impact against the dwarfens, if they're left alive, so I agree on snipping these 2 at first turn, but then afterwards, it should've been all in against the tribal.

Ultimately since it was a 2v2, splitting armies isn't optimal for some cases, this was a cleary one.
It is quite interesting analyse the battles.

Mycroft's battle is a really good one. One mistake that the demon did was to charge into the fray without waiting for the effects of the de buffs. I would have hung back, used up several rounds of disruption, and in the meantime just defended. The next thing that he did was go after the poor elf, rather than his more dangerous enemy, Mycroft himself. Otherwise it demonstrates that a defensive wizard is a viable build.

Milkshot's battle was also very good. The tribal is very difficult to beat- once the spirit is up. Couple that with a buff- stone skin and evasion- and the opponents were practically helpless. One was to do so would be by magic, the other way would be a large shooter stack sniping away. The best possible way the dwarfs would have gone about it was shoot the stack of wardens (down to 39 or so- that would be enough) and then concentrate on one stack at time.

My battle demonstrates the potency of the amor damage effects of the dominion of fire. The buffer debuffer combination was otherwise very difficult to beat. Once again the demon charged in too fast.

If you would rank them, I would say mycroft, then mine and then milkshot.

for merlin36:

I think Mycroft has received more than 3 votes for sure.
(Mycroft , Me , Night Crawler , _uNboRN_ , Sheamus)
for PLaY LikE a PRO:

All votes upwards from post 11 were not counted as many of the battles had the same link which would lead to unfair voting
