Which rings for firewall build?

Stellar rings or defense rings.

Should i take max ghosts instead of dreadlords? Miss chance may be more useful for mage i think?

may be battles from this player gives you a tip because he plays unholy necro in cg and wins quiet a lot
actually they can win almost everything, except tribal or fury barb. they just need a lot of skills.
check the cg log of ever_quest(link given by above), he is the best non-level-camper hybrid unholy player.

Its the best build of the world and universe, in terms of fun!!!

It is up to you to have tons of Spell power, or pick some Def, so that you dont get instantly killed. Sometimes I picked RoCs, others Rings of Contradictions.
The Rings that give more Spell power are way too much of the "Reckless ways", I'd say, with no Def.
Also, it is a "Slow" Build, against DEs, Tribals, Elves...

I fear to admit that Im playing Melee Im winning way more than with FireWall UN, it seriously needs a buff (Maybe 13 Dmg per SP, and not 10? No comparison to Meteor Rain of Chaoses), no debate here.

what does this class beat?
I guarantee almost 100% Win against Chaoses, in which case you should focus first the opponent that is not the Chaos user (His warrior ally), to shut him down fast, so that he does not shut you down fast instead, or your ally.
Remaining Chaos DE/Wiz wont be able to beat you, because you Heal x2 what he can Damage with 1 Spell.

Also Dwarves are good opponent to get, you Defend in corner, cast Firewalls, Etc.
Needs Teamwork and stalling, and knowing when to flee or block enemy archers, Etc...
Also, you may pick Dreadlords to try Sleep a full stack of Bears/Unicorns/Genies, or you may pick Ghosts because more survavility in corner along with the stack of 105 Ghouls.

Also, I guarantee you 100% loss against Tribals :D
Joking, but they are way too hard with their Blood/Spirit thing.

Best partners are Dwarf with Soldier's Luck (Patriark x2 Fire Dmg, may get you to make 500 Dmg per "Proc" of Wall), and anything that can cast Mass Delay (DDs, Tribals with many Shamans...), and worst enemies are very fast Factions, or with many archers.

You may also check "Zhekas", "Black Banshee", and "Darzul".
Only players in whole LWM/HWM that play this Build I think, and Lady Sofiouta used to long ago.

Anyway, if you wanna learn this Build VV, spend hours watching battles in "Lgnd.Ru", it takes "Strategy", but its worth it.

And as Meshy said, yes, it is "Weak" sometimes, but I enjoy it so much.
If you wanna "Play for fun" then you may go with this, otherwise Melee UN is way way stronger, relentless Undead charge.

I like Firewall build because I was tired of enemies with 50 Def, or Dark Magicks.
Magic just ignores Defence, and the Magic Proof filter is laughable, so its like making "True Damage" (Of course after FSL Resist), sad that the scaling is too low (10 Dmg per SP, as I mentioned).
My Win Rate with this is terrible though, I admit.
And sorry for very very long Speech, I just read "Fire Wall UN" and get ****y. :P
Btw remove "Dominion of Life" (I see you have it put), you dont need it when you have 30 SP, nor "Dominion of Undeath" either.
You'd better put those 5 Talent Points into "Expert Sorcery", or "Conceal Knowledge", Idk. Hero Ini is important.

I think Fire UN might be way better at CL 17-18, with the Dragons that give -2 Luck and Morale (Along with Zombie Aura, you may make people Freeze), and the many items for Mages that give almost 13 Ini of Hero, with Expert Sorcery it'd be a madness.
But I cant know since Im not CL 17-18 :P
Last thing, allied Treefolks and Spiders can be useful when rooting in a Firewall, it makes enemy bleed every turn for a lot.

With everquest - one thinbg to note as well is that he is with the same ally. This may also contribute to his higher win rate with UN. Some combos are better than others - given UN has not got a great record generally having a consistent partner that does work with it is perhaps a reasonable way of getting a decent win rate with them.

I think this build is very good, but for high levels since more spell power the better.

But I don't think, such necros can beat charmer elves or any fast attacking faction.
But unbeatable for slow factions. Amazing indeed.
Regular UN build is objectively better (some sp, some kn), but mage UN is one of my favourite builds in the game ^^
RoC, and rest best mage arts. Also for troops I think polters are better than vamps for sure.

can you tell me first what the central talent actually does? It says that it improves efficiency of raise dead spell. I believed that involves less hp reduction per raise and that is why i kept it. If its only referring to efficiency in terms of raising power then its useless for a mage build indeed.

I would argue the opposite, since you will not have very much defence, you will need to raise as efficiently as possible in order to survive.
Yes, the definition is very misleading and inaccurate.
I'd say it increases the overall limit of Raise in terms of HP by 20%, or so.
Only that, since I didn't see a change in decrease of Hp penalty after raise, or hero Ini after raise (Which racial does).

With 30 SP and max FSL you should be able to raise almost the whole 105 Ghoul stack at once, reason why it'd be a good idea to invest the talent points of "Dominion of Life" and "Dominion of Undead" into something better, like further "Erudition" or "sorcery".

Off topic:
I say this many times, and maybe I'm dreaming, but I'm sure this winter or so we might get changes in the Nature spells.

Maybe not as big changes as I dream of, but who knows.
