Tourney results: Over represented as population, LWM

AuthorTourney results: Over represented as population, LWM
Just wanted people's opinion about this issue.
I think the concept of "Over represented as population" (I think Corey said it after the whole .Ru issue, not sure) regarding Results in Events and stuff defines quite well the topic.

Results are up, I counted like 15 winners in this Mixed (Maybe more? Lazy to check correctly, Tbh) Atm.
+ Many "Potential" more because of blatant Imba sometimes match making, made them stay with 9 Wins, at the doorstep of Medals.
I think we are like 5%, people but that's a 10% almost of Winners, Imo.

I don't know if it has to do with a "LWM Patriotic/Nationalist feeling" lately, but:
With this I want to highlight that the big big "Majority" of the LWM (As of ".Com") Players has a TGI (Sometimes very early on), "Anti Skill" FSL, Guilds, and overall a "Good" character.
As well as overall wide "Knowledge "of the game, concepts, etc (Not as "Measurable" as Guilds, maybe).

Why is this?
It has to do with the Community being smaller?
I don't think it has to do with "Culture" (As of "Mentality/Thoughts"), since there's people from India, to the USA, passing by Europe.
Actually, being less implies a more calm Forum (Check .Ru, on lively days it's crazy), which implies less overall links between people and communication.
Or maybe being less forces people to be more United ( history shows it)?
I mean, everybody has their "goals" pretty much in mind well focused, and rarely I thought "This guy needs to work more on his character/He's very weak" about anyone in .Com, Tbh.

I mean, many I see are pretty much above the average" of players.
I
Just random thoughts I had...
I hope you see my point, idk if it stood clear))

PS - Regarding tournament: Many Elves and CEs as winners, surprisingly.
I think we are like 5%, people but that's a 10% almost of Winners, Imo.

Not really significant even if that were true. Anyhow, 10k competitors in total and many of them may not have finished all 12 battles - not so sure about the 5% part.

Look at all the gold medalists this time: How many are from .com? I can only recognize Vh1 among the top 51. Tell me if you can find anyone else, but what is 1 or 2 out of 51? Its an awfully low number to make a statistical point.

Also, frankly speaking this game doesn't really require serious effort or anything to reach an average strength character which you usually see. The average, which is constantly improving, is not really that distinguishable from what you see in the majority of .com players. The newer characters may seem exceptional but it is quite rare on upper levels. So i feel its worthless to spend time trying to correlate "culture" and whatnot to someone's tendency to be more prudent on character building.
Generally speaking, there was a notorious difference between the average .com and .ru chars, when the servers were merged: .com chars had worse Faction Skill development, but higher guild levels (because frankly, there was little else to do). In .ru, lots of events and PvP meant more XP and FSP, but leveling up faster, with worse guild levels.

This meant that, again on average, .com chars were more suited for PvE and .ru chars for PvP (higher FSL on main and better anti-skill).

But that was 5 years ago... I believe that such difference is now meaningless, if it still exists at all. And this is only looking at the numbers; the topic of whether .com players are better or worse strategists than our .ru counterparts is a whole different topic.

You can find where you are, on average for your CL, here: http://daily.heroeswm.ru/newscom.php?i=FSP

and here: http://lgnd.ru/stat/average
There is a greater selection pressure for .com players since it is not based in their own language. Therefore those that stay are likely to have a greater level of commitment, on average, than their .ru couterparts since there will likely be a lower proportion of casual players.

However, many of the .com players with the best character builds do not tend to do pvp so much.

I would be surprised if there was a sample big enough to give statistical significance with regard to better than average achievement by .com players. However, I think there is enough .commers regularly being up in the rankings to ensure that any negative stereotype of .com players being weak or stupid is avoided, and if anything have a greater chance of the perception being the other way around.

Those .com players that regularly do CG will also be putting that view across regularly since I think they all have a good win rate.

As such I think there is plenty for us to be proud about - but am not inclined to do a hard statistical analysis to back it up.

ps yes Corey did say that

yoda?
But that was 5 years ago... I believe that such difference is now meaningless, if it still exists at all

Surely it exists,

for people who were low level during merge it was no problem catching up to ru,but for high levels during merge like me(think i was 15) still i'm behind ru average by 10~k fsp
Well, for CL18, of course you are, you just arrived at that land (btw, congratz mate!).

By the end of CL18, you'll likely be above average: In 50kk exp you should get something around 20k fsp, depending on where you focus your battles.
There will always be an aspect that for a portion of time any .commer was in a worse position than the .ru characters, and that history will forever be in our character builds. With this being more significant the higher your CL pre merge, or for those who have not fought too much since the merge. However, I think there has been sufficient time and opportunity since that merge that any disparity now is more about choices made as to what battles to do since the marge than what happened before it. If you chose to do a high ratio of event and watchers guild battles chances are that disparity is minimal or non existent (there are many characters on the .com server you could indicate in this way. if however you chose primarily less good ratio battles, you may still feel 'weak' in comparison.
