AuthorLeveling Smithing
Hi guys.

I just wanted to ask if anybody had any advice for leveling up black smithing for more efficient repairs. I think I mainly have two general questions, and if anyone could provide any help that would be awesome!

1) Is the relation between the repair cost of an item, the time it takes for the repair, and how many skill points are awarded static? What I mean is, if I repair a 0/10 item, that has never been repaired before, do I always get the same skill points as another item with 10 durability? Or is the skill points awarded based off of the price of the item? Or maybe the time?

2) If there is variance in the way skill points are awarded, then there must also be a “quick, expensive” method of leveling up the skill, and also a “slow, cost efficient” method of leveling. If this is true, can anybody provide insight on both methods? Mainly is there a certain item, or groups of items that provide the most bang for my buck when repairing, with the sole purpose of leveling the skill as fast as possible?

Any help or information is greatly appreciated, thanks everyone!
1. The number of points you get from smithing is constant on the cost of repair. You get 1 point for every 4,000 gold repair cost, no matter the durability.

2. I guess the quick and expensive method is to use diamonds now for instant repair. Training smiths usually part charge their customers for repairs. For example a 50% smith (one who repairs at 50% efficiency) can charge customers about 40 - 50% (depending how generous you are) to repair their arts.

Thanks Meshy! I really appreciate it, this is exactly what I was looking for!
