[2019.06.03] Day of the Adventurer

Author[2019.06.03] Day of the Adventurer
Astrologers proclaim the Day of the Adventurer! Only today:

  • +25% faction skill points earned in all Adventurers' Guild battles.
  • Higher chance of receiving 1% estate certificates.
  • Is flooding forum with these day of threads necesary? Most of them have like 1 or 2 replies only anyway.. And they are all duplicating, cause the days are repeating..
Better they communicate it than not, however I am sure they could do this without clogging the general game forum.
Oh my, threads in a forum, this is heresy! I don't want to see anything more fresh and new than a one year old thread.

This is an official thread made by administration, more meaningful than 95% of things written here, and directly impacting the gameplay.

When people don't get news, they complain, when they get news, oh well, it's just too much news and they complain.

Here is the official definition of flooding:
4.1. Flood means posting messages not related to the discussion matter; messages not carrying any sense; messages acknowledged useless by the moderators/administrators; messages violating the local rules of a forum branch. Flood is not considered a malicious violation, however such posts can be deleted and the author might get banned.

Please explain how it fulfills the above criteria.

The last message I can view is from 05.15 so it's fair to say that the forum is so dead that one thread a day is not going to clutter it and dig things one might want to talk about.

At best it provides an opportunity to have some talk on the forum, if you bother checking you can find out that about 1/3 of threads have comments, which probably amount to half of the daily posts or so.
    for Marquis Thornwald:
    Can’t agree more
I don't think Aurelija was suggesting it was a flood per se, perhaps that this information could go in a different location, as per https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=2715612&page=last
That would be perfect. Thing is. If I want to find a thread of the past event for example, I have to go through pages and pages of empty locked "Day of" threads.
It could, but then he's complaining in a random place rather than in the place to make constructive suggestions.

Besides when I read Aurelija's post it suggests to me that he thinks these are useless threads (they are not "necessary", "duplicating", "repeating").

A new dedicated section would make more sense.

An issue that I have with the atmosphere of this forum is that it tries too hard to restrict expression. Like sometimes I read something and I think that I don't give a thing about it. That's fine. I don't go out of my way to say how little I care or how it pisses me to read about it. Others might think differently about it or just wanted to express themselves and my opinion does not have to take precedence over other's. Like, if you don't like that thread, don't click on the thread title.

The fact that there are no answers is more of an indication that the forum is dead than the thread useless, on .ru it has 57 answers and yesterday's day of thread had 125.
I think there should be a thread and a place to comment, whether used a lot is another matter.

However, it is likely that with repeat versions of these events there is minimal to be said in each thread from people posting, and as such its main function is to divulge key information quickly and easily, while retaining the option for people to comment as they see fit.

The flip side to this is that by it being in the general game forum it disrupts that and makes it harder to browse through. The posts going into a separate forum area maintains the advantages, and mitigates most of the disadvantages. At least that is my opinion, my apologies for putting this reply here when it did not match the opening comment, but felt it would be more cogent than continuing it in the suggestion thread I linked to earlier.

No, it's useless. I don't bother responding to useless threads.
If it does not interest you, why are you even reading this?
