Let's discuss everything regarding Watcher's guild here.
I almost only exclusively play WG errands with AI hero. There's usually no problems to get three stars, but yesterday I encountered a portal hero where I think I was very lucky to win the battle at all. Does anyone have similar experience?

I personally use shrews + tactics build for Watchers, and I think if you did too, that could have been much easier.
If you have a shrew stack alive after those bows die, can poke-kill sentinels quite comfortably. |
My only trouble in WG comes from Magi Arcanum, elemental one and Pirates.
Don't have a battle at hand, but I rely hard on morales to overcome Magi Arcanum.
And I need a lot of luck to have right set of Pirates. Low cannon matches are the easiest, while max-cannon matches are almost sure loss. Shrews die first turn to buccaneers, and liz, hydras and dragons, being large creatures, all die very easy to cannons. Not fun. |
| But against pirates, DE poison build is often an easy three star win, even with lots of cannons (ie https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?lt=-1&warid=996326319). I agree though that shrews+tactics would have been better against the portal hero above. In general against AI hero, I prefer poison build, since AI don't handle that well. |
DE poison build much better for Castles too, I guess.
I'd rather just skip those two, than change build for them though. |
PvE i mostly use DE def build with poisioners and minos.

Thats exactly what I do with any quest that doesnt have a hero, I play magic build and I know I could win hunts if I switched to might but I'd rather just skip them :) |

with 3 luck also i hardly get luck 1 out of 10 times :(

| Well you are. If you check the source code, you can see that the more you donate, the lesser your luck procs. |
