I like the angels. Now they won't be blocking 2 tiles above them with their wings.
The griffins are good too, more compact and fierce looking. Not sure about the swordsmen though. |

True, they could've went for improving the detail while keeping the 'majestic' wings of the angels. But these look more dignified lol. Closer to the Sun Templars i guess?
And yeah, the swordsmen look disproportionate with their head seemingly smaller than their body (Could be because of the armor, but meh). |

Yes, and clutter less the view.
I'm not sold on the swordmen. They look too bulky and as if they did number two.
The old griffin head is way too small and would barely look like eaglish if not for the beak, the new head is an improvement I think. They should redo the body to look better, I would be hard pressed to point at a lion. The wings look out of place either way. Roc wings are the way to go. |

To be honest, I am more bothered about functionality than aesthetics, though these are not mutually exclusive.
Angel, seems fine to me, a valid compromise.
Swordsmen, look rather blockish, though given how they are used, this is probably fair.
Griffin, most is fine, but their back legs are more like frogs legs with claws |

If there was in fact a problem with angels blocking view of smaller unit - which i haven't experienced in any significant way personally -still gives no more than zero reason to change swordsmen.
What's next? We are going to see paladins with horse feet and that will be an improvement too for being realistic. |
