Author | Don't allow sharing replays of event battles until the event ends! |
We all know, how many players wait for replays until the last day of the event and just copy everything to get top ranks.
I would suggest to stop sharing replays before event end. I guess it's applied in survival tournaments. Would be great if something similar can be implied here. It's really sad to see players using 0% skill or brain, just copying replays of others and ending up outranking someone who was able to clear a particular wave on his own in 2-3 attempts. If my estimation is right, 30-50% players with top ranks in events just wait for replays and copy.
I'm not trying to discourage sharing of tactics. I'm sure there are other ways to share it. I just think that doing this will make things fair for everyone.
At last, I have bo offense for anyone who follow this 'copy and play' gamestyle.
Thank you. |
No* offense... :P |

If you're playing an event, make it look like one. How is copying others blindly to secure good ranks any bit fair? If rewards are given for best individual players in the events then I think it would only be fair to everyone if such copying is stopped. |

For me, such change would return fun into the game. I enjoy playing on my own much more than I enjoy copying, but copying is probably a more solid way of getting a good rank. If copying was made more complicated (sharing screenshots and forum/skype discussion of tactics), I would feel that I am not losing that much when trying to figure out the solution myself.
Especially in LeG events with that database of best scores on daily, RNG (+unit availability and armaments) are the only things preventing everyone from having the perfect score. I don't think this is how a strategic game competition should look like. |
I am not sure that it is a good idea. Sometimes you want to share your battles to get some adivce. It may help to get better score |
People would just find a workaround, you would start seeing screenshots of the battles.
As somebody who plays events casually I have no interest in losing the fights and grinding through. |

It is not a good idea, usually who share battles are clans or friends and people can record battles which is a fair strategy, besides it is choice you can use it or not depending if you like challenges or not |
Even if the game does not allow sharing battles, there are options to record battle videos for events and share them with players. This idea will just make things inconvenient for certain players who don't use these 3rd parties to record and share... but those among us who are relatively more savy will not be halted. There is no way you can or should imo stop a player who wants to share. |
There are some events such as portal of time, random pirate battles, or dungeon where the fights are random, so sharing exact waves is not possible.
The sharing of static wave events allows for clan cooperation to play a large role in determining who places high - it might be intended to balance out the random events.
I thought this previous event was tough. While an enchanted imperial set wouldn't have guaranteed me getting into a top spot, it probably would have helped out P: |
