This is as the title say. I missed the days when everyone used to hang out in the chat box, chatting. Having fun. Nowadays, no one ever uses it anymore.
This is why I suggest whenever a player messages in the chat box, a notification will pop-up beside the chat box (Same like Commander's Guild notification). Notifying the players that someone is in the chat room ready to chat.
Tho there will be a setting for the notification of chat. If that particular player does not want to chat, he/she may turn off the notification in the game setting. The developer can even set level requirement to turn off the chat notification if they wish.
This will promote players who are not doing anything to just hang out and chat rather than waiting for hunting, labour or mercenary guild.
This effect will not effect much on the early stages as we know not much players are on everyday. That is all. Thank you for your time reading. | The chat room was great but unfortunately I think it will be impossible to recapture the days when 30-50 people would sit in the inquiry room at any given time. There are a few reasons for this:
The in game chat interface is bad. At the time it was fine but now discord, skype and others are much better. It slows down the game and is an eyesore.
There are not enough active English players
People prefer to sit in their clan chat
The whole Internet vibe has changed. Bulletin boards and active chat rooms for niche topics are virtually a thing of the past. Social media took over, time moved on.
I miss the strong community feel here quite a lot but I don't think there is a way to get it back. The best you can do is join an mc with active chat. |
