Amphibian Calm

AuthorAmphibian Calm
A bright flash of magic lit up the wildwood, shrouding everything for miles and miles around in brilliant light. Such an act of senseless aggression and interference in the natural course of things would not go unnoticed by the naturally cold-blooded visitors from the depths of the distant past, but it was not nearly enough to dispirit them.

"In calm and s-silent seas-s," begins the amphibian High Priestess, gliding graciously before the ranks of priests. Her pale lips don’t move, but her voice reverberates in the minds of everyone present as if she were addressing each person individually. "A holy light shimmers-s." Her voice is both exciting and soothing at the same time. It sounds like a sermon, an admonition about something important and sacred. "Lis-s-ten to the hearts beat." The voice slowly fades and the silence indeed fills with the sound of beating hearts. Her absolute serenity gone, the priestess directs her snake-like gaze at you, of all people. Unsure what to do, you shoot Abu-Bakir a questioning glance. "It would be wise to show respect to our guests’ venerable traditions," you hear in your head, even though the court mage’s mouth stays shut. "The silence will help me get on with my research, too..." The mage’s thoughts fade away, letting you return to your normal state of consciousness. The preaching is over; it is time for the pilgrimage to begin.

Lords and Ladies, the court mage Abu-Bakir summons you to take part in his new magic experiment. Under the guise of an amphibian priest, you will lead an amphibian temple army on a holy pilgrimage. Do not miss this opportunity to learn more about the tactics and military traditions of the loyal servants of sunken ancient sanctuaries!

Combat briefing:
- Lords and Ladies of combat level 5 or above are invited to participate.
- Regular battles require shop artifacts, and enchantments have no effect.
- For battles against superior enemy forces, it is recommended that you use enchanted artifacts with a total enchantment power of 40 or more, and you need to be combat level 7 or higher to fight in such battles.
- Important! It is a good idea to have a few parameter points of Spell power and Knowledge in order to be able to wield Holy magic.

- Your normal castle armies are unavailable; instead you will command amphibian units, with a starting castle and troops which you will build up as the pilgrimage advances.
- Your faction skills and magic schools are unavailable, but the amphibian High Priests have granted you full access to their faction’s skills, abilities and spells.
- The amphibian priests’ special skill is Inner eye: As long as any commanded creature does not attack or use magic, it gets +5 defense and +15% damage dealt.
- Your main objective is to traverse the wild lands and reach the coveted portal.
- A total of 30 main battles will be available without a limit on the number of attempts, plus 50 additional battles with a limit of up to 75 attempts. The main rewards will be given out for winning the main battles, while the additional ones will come with only minor rewards (compared with the cost of the equipment they will require).
- Lords and Ladies of combat level 11 or lower cannot advance past level 30 on the map.
- To complete the pilgrimage (main map), you will need to erect new buildings in your amphibian castle, recruit additional troops and equip them with sacred creature armaments.
- Three types of secondary battles will also be available to help you: 1) earn additional silver, 2) gain additional glory points, and 3) find creature armaments.
- You can collect silver by ambushing smugglers, and spend it to build up your amphibian castle and recruit new troops.
- You can gain glory points by defeating armies of brigands who control settlements and castles along the way. Glory points increase your spiritual influence among your amphibian troops. The higher your glory and influence, the more troops you can recruit and command.
- You can find creature armaments by hunting amphibian renegades and retrieving the specific armaments they carry.
- After your every 4th loss in the event, a special incentive battle will become available against a smaller enemy army, with a reward of 2,000 silver. However, stay vigilant as the enemy doesn’t play fair and will call in reinforcements.
- Regular battles and battles against superior enemy forces are mutually exclusive. If you defeat the regular opponent, its superior counterpart will become inaccessible on that level, and vice versa.
- All enemy armies in each battle are the same for all players of the same combat level.
- After you erect a new unit building in your amphibian castle, a certain number of those units will become available for recruitment immediately, and more will become available on every new day for the first 7 days of the event.
- On the 1st event day, you can advance up to 5th level on the map. 5 more levels will become available every day. On days 7 and 8, 20 additional levels will be added, and the last 10 additional levels will be added on day 9.
- 6 secondary battles of each type will be available per day, and any unclaimed ones will be carried over to the next day (the maximum number of secondary battles available is 42).
- Winning regular battles may reward you with silver, glory points, guild points, gold, creature armaments, diamonds, follower creatures, follower creature summon scrolls and parts of summon scrolls, and parts of Magma Ring and Heaven Armour.
- Winning secondary battles may reward you with points toward Thieves’ / Rangers’ Guild, Hunters’ Guild or Watchers’ Guild.
- The pilgrimage will last for 12 days, through June 30 inclusive, after which the experimental magic will be dispelled.
- After the pilgrimage ends, the amphibian High Priests will grant a trophy artifact and a special achievement to every Lord or Lady who has defeated an enemy of level 7 or higher. The durability of the trophy artifact will depend on the player’s maximum enemy level defeated, including the additional levels.
- There will be no rewards other than those listed in this announcement.

During and after this event you can earn up to 33 parts of Magma Ring and up to 20 parts of Heaven Armour. Don’t miss out!

- The top 75 military clans and all of their active members will receive special rewards based on the clan rankings in which each clan’s final score will equal the sum of its top 100 members maximum enemy levels defeated.
- The clan reward will be given to all non-blocked members of the clan who earned at least 10 points for the clan.
- If a member leaves or is expelled from a military clan, then the clan loses all of that member’s points. If the member returns to the clan, their points will be added back for the clan.
- Important! It is prohibited to leave one’s clan on the last day of the event and until the rewards have been given out.
- Important! Military clans may admit no more than 3 new members per day while the event lasts.
- Important! Lords and Ladies who have won more than 30 victories on the map will not be able to join any military clan until the end of the event.
