Ice and darkness frighten only those who are weak in body and soul, those in whose hearts the flame of heroic passion does not blaze. All others the flame fills with strength and courage, the two pillars of valor. The traditions that rest upon them have not changed for centuries, ever since the first clash of the mighty Manticore and the noble Griffin. The only thing that varies is which clan's banners are touched by glory. Whose banners will adorn the capital walls this time? Only the Great Contest can tell.
Valiant Lords and Ladies! The simmering summer season promises to get even hotter with the start of the next eternal confrontation between courage and strength. Even though one does not exclude the other, our traditions must be honored. Warlord Grammith and dwarven commander Tolgar are already hoisting the banners of the chivalrous Griffin — the reigning champions — and the formidable Manticore upon the walls of the arena. Let the Great Contest begin!

Contest rules:
1. Participants must be of combat level 5 or above and will be randomly assigned to the Griffin or the Manticore side.
2. Enrollment for contest battles will be held at :00 and :30 of every hour (outside of a night break).
3. Contest battles will be traditionally in the 2x2 format. If a battle doesn’t get enough human participants, your opponent or ally might be a computer-controlled magical copy of another participant.
4. Only shop artifacts are allowed, and enchantments have no effect.
5. The competition will last for 10 day, through July 25 inclusive.
6. You may attain up to 30 victories in the contest.
7. You will receive gold, Commanders’ Guild points and 1.5 the normal faction skill points for contest battles.
8. Wins in the contest will be tallied for each side, excluding battles that featured magical copies of other participants.
9. The contest will happen in three rounds. The first and second rounds will last for 4 days each, and the third round will last for 2 days. At the beginning of every round the scores will be reset to zero. The side that wins at least 2 of the 3 rounds will win the contest.
10. Each participant who attains 3 wins or more will be rewarded with a special backpack artifact — either a Griffin Gonfalon or a Manticore Gonfalon — which they may equip in this and other contests. Those who attain the maximum of 30 wins will be additionally rewarded with their side’s Order artifact!
Moreover, you will receive a special elixir after your 7th, 14th and 24th wins, respectively:

The elixirs have no effect in PvP events, PvP tournaments, Commanders’ Guild battles, Survival Tournaments, or Text Quests. Elixirs must be used before September 1, 2023.
You will also receive one part of a Fear Boots for each win:
