Power demands strength and vigilance, as his eternal rival wasted no time in reminding him. Relying on nothing but his old instincts, the Griffin held firm, falling back into defense. Yet this was no mere weakness, as the Manticore believed it to be, unleashing all her might to crush the foe. Nay, therein lay the cunning of his design - to wear down the enemy by letting them expend their own vigor, that at the battle’s end he might rise anew and meet them on equal footing once more. The plan was fraught with peril, but in the end it was proven true. Fortune smiled once again upon the Griffin, granting him to keep his hold upon the throne. Yet with bitter knowledge did he realize the foe in this round had grown far stronger. And in the next clash, fate may well turn her favor the other way. Glory to the Griffin! Honor to the Manticore!

The contest was won with great honor, and all who had the privilege to behold it shall not soon forget, not only its outcome but also the fierce intrigue that held sway until the very last moments! In the end, the situation proved quite unusual. Though the Manticore’s team did claim the greater number of victories in total (18610 vs 18830), the Gryphon’s team seized victory by rounds with a score of 2 vs 1. Warlord Grammith and the dwarf chieftain Tolgar give thanks to all for partaking in this noble martial occasion!
All Lords and Ladies who have earned at least 3 victories shall receive a positive temporary effect until September 1 inclusive:
Lords and Ladies of the Griffin’s team +15% to faction skill points;
Lords and Ladies of the Manticore’s team +10% to faction skill points;
and furthermore a banner icon of their team in their character’s achievements.
Those Lords and Ladies who have won all 30 victories shall be rewarded with a special order of their team!
In honor of the Griffin band’s victory, their banner shall hold a place of honor above the main gates of the Empire’s Capital throughout the entire next cycle!
Moreover, all who have won at least one victory shall receive 3 gifts as a token of reward:
The gifts must be used by September 1st.
