(TLDR; Make a tournament or group fight or quick tournament with OWNED ITEMS ONLY) - no rented or loaned items ideally, but atleast no rented items
As someone who played back in the day, before rented items were really (ab)used the way they are today - I kinda miss the charm of fighting people with items I have bought or earned myself.
Renting THE BEST item for my level with THE BEST enchant, for one game, at a silly expense - just doesnt feel super fun to me.
Majority of people probably are used to renting items for every important fight, but I feel theres a place for fights without rented items.
So fx. in Group Battles we currently have a variety of different settings, which I personally think is great, but I feel like having a "OWNED ITEMS ONLY" setting.
Obviously the downside being that you can just buy items from others with the enchants you want, and sell them back, or loan them or whatever - but it would still be much better than the current group fight/tournament meta where its 9 rented items, half of which has THE BEST enchants in the game.
Seems silly to me.
Anyways sorry for the wall of text, but I felt this suggestion needed context.
Let me know what you think - assuming this suggestion isnt being stopped by some rule, or game setting.
