So, holidays coming and I'm going to host game parties with my semi-nerdy friends who I love haha. I've got switch console recently but not new to the Nintendo family. I had a gameboy advance followed by 3ds in my early teens when it came out. Got Swoled in 2021. I have played all the Pokémon games. I'm a massive fan.
Also loved the Ace attorney games. All the sequels.
I have tried to like the Mario games, but they all suck except the classic Mario bros from childhood. The racing games are boring and the 3D games they've got now are meh. Somehow, I didn't care for anything else they've put out.
Looking for new games to play. I have lots of money to burn so impress me with recommendations if you know a thing about switch games. Doesn't have to be switch exclusive. Share any masterpieces you know, and I would love to play them on my gaming laptop. |
Forgot to say one of the most beautiful games on switch in my opinion is the Ori: Will of the wisps. It's just so so beautiful. I was impressed how they created such an environment, the gameplay is fun but the story and music elements are absurdly gorgeous.
Guess it made me appreciate Metroidvanias so much that I ended up buying the renowned Hollow Knight and loved it very much too. Perhaps only second to Ori, Team cherry, HK's creators did a marvelous job of creating a truly unique and captivating environment and lore. It has a sequel which came out this year and I started playing but didn't finish as I ran out of steam with busy life. I plan to finish it soon.
Anywho I couldn't have created this post without mentioning those two games which were discovered by a stroke of luck but now stay at the very top of my list of beloved games. |
| i dont know any games for switch but if you like the nostalgia of pokemon games and find vanilla games too easy there are plenty of fan made romhacks floating around for free that really up the difficulty of the vanilla games and creates new stories etc. I think i have personally played around 40 different ones varying from completely new storylines to brutal difficulty ones. and best of all they are free so no harm in trying them. |
If you enjoy the original Pokemon games and want the MMO experience too, try "PokeMMO"
Having an absolute blast on it! |
| Where did you get compatible roms? I'd like to try it but the emerald rom I downloaded for this game is incompatible. |
| for virtual_vitrea: google will help. just google compatible emerald rom for pokemmo. usually they tell you exactly the emerald copy you will need, and then its easy to find. even the patching tools that you sometimes have to use usually come witha readme explaining all the steps so its pretty simple. |
| It works! Thank you Rohanarora and Slayer! |
for virtual_vitrea:
there are hundreds of romhacks out therez dozens of REALLY good ones.
if you want maximum challenge mode radical red is it. it maximizes all usage of game mechanics like ivs, evs held items, terrains, weather etc. combined with very advanced ai usage. |
| Which emulator do you use? I'd like it if there is a high definition version lol. Pokemmo is kinda fun ngl. I was impressed with the option to buy mons with poke dollars but most of the listings seemed a bit kinda scammy with magikarps with terrible natures selling for 1k. Reminded me of the fisher guy from Kanto who sold a magikarp for 500. |
if you think Mario Kart or Mario Party are boring and you are hosting a party
then you shouldn't have the switch I guess because these games are the most popular games to be played as party |
for virtual_vitrea:
I think there is a minimum price or something, haven't explored trade too much, makes the storyline too easy to enjoy for me if I just buy off the market and race through the storylines. |
