| On the very first day, it is tempting to just get the two stacks of free wolf riders. It should however be better to get one of the wood, and upgrade your castle to earn more silver per day. Only a marginal benefit, but one that I made, I just saw the wolves and grabbed without looking at what buildings I good get. |

| Anyone know what the deal is with wayfarer Sef. Do we buy the map, do we attack him, do we just ignore like many other aspects of this if you want to do vaguely well? |

attack him to get additional exp and skill points, saves 4k silver as well and bonus areas on map are absolutely crucial, i battle 3 places on the map for 4.8k silver, 5.8k silver and 46 barbaresses as additional unit, they deal like 6 k damage in melle and have 18 ini with a no retaliation ability. Pair that with goblin warlocks you get on map and stunning strike and you have your end game outplay setup. |

Anyone know for sure the deal with the spiders. It looks like for either 20 spiders (not sure how you get them) or for killing them you get a +1 defence art. Which I do not think is worth it. If however they open up another area, then that is a whole different ball game.
To be honest I don;t like the fact that in two spots they gave a big stack of powerful troops, this massively changes the balance in favour of rushing to this point to get them, which of course you do not know to do until you have played through to that point. What this means is that to be competitive at the top, realistically you either have to wait a while to find out, or likely do it multiple times to fine tune everything.
I guess this is in the admins interest, I just personally prefer things where you just do it once and then it feels like a more level playing field. |
Do not get orc shamans, I battled them thinking I could then convert them into my other upgraded orcs, and so have an equivalent value of approx 2800 silver, however this was not the case, so was instead a wasted battle.
I should have known since this was the case with the warlock goblins, so an oversight on my behalf, but I figure one easily done and so would try and prevent others making the same error. |
What are people thinking with regard to recruitment of the higher troops?
I have gone up to rocs, and doubt I will recruit higher. With less time, the amount I recruit will always be much smaller and not enough probably to make a difference.
Besides I do not think one would ever easily have enough silver to get their.
Short of their being another silver mine later, you get a max of 2500 per day.
This is pretty much the same as the cost to recruit the upgraded versions of goblins, wolf riders and orcs, as well as unupgraded rocs.
I reckon therefore that it will probably work out that these are sufficient and best to max out these, especially given the stack of barbaressa and orc warriors you can pick up along the way, both of which will take quite a lot of silver to get a comparable amount of troops the normal way. Only upgraded ogres would get close to having a high enough recruit count, but I don;t reckon I will ever have enough silver to get all that I could recruit and upgrade them to have enough speed and ini to be useful.
Also is it just random chance which troops you can pick up along the way. The battle shown by slayer has way more orcs than I have and could recruit still, and I am 10 days further in than him, and this was from a battle sometime before he beat the 6th leader. By comparison this is mine just before I beat the 8th.
