Silence was the gremlin's only answer, for there was no one in the chambers but him. In recent days the Empress had clearly been troubled by something and looked gloomier than a storm cloud. Wicklet had tried no end of ways to cheer her up, but all of it was in vain. And then, all at once…
- A new tournament. That's it! Of course! - the jester exclaimed, slapping himself on the forehead. - A tournament whose only purpose is to bring joy to the spectators. How did I not think of it sooner?
Then he snatched up his quill and, with his tongue poking out, began to set down the text of the invitation on parchment.
Valiant lords and ladies, the court jester invites all of combat level 5 and above to take part in a new tournament. Everyone who comes to the Capital and joins the battles is guaranteed unforgettable impressions, as well as windflowers as a reward*.
*Instead of a wind flower you may receive a toadstool, an abrasive, viper venom, or any other element used to enchant equipment.
Important additional information:
The tournament will last five days. Five encounters will become available on the first day, another five on the second, and starting from the third day all fifteen. Each defeat weakens the enemy, but at the same time it reduces the gold reward for the current and all the following opponents. All equipment can be utilized, however the court mages will block the function of artifact enchantments by order of the Empress to preserve the Capital intact. Remain vigilant and wisely use your stamina to avoid battle exhaustion!
