Night crept up unnoticed and swept over the Empire in an instant. A chill, unfettered wind carried the breath of autumn's coolness — the kind that slips down your collar in drops of autumn rain and, with the lightest of touches, lets the first yellowed leaves fall to the ground. Yet before autumn could claim its due, the Lords had one last summer festival to celebrate — the Day of Heroes.
And while most of the Empire's people slept soundly in their beds, the court mage Abu-Bakir peered uneasily into the darkness from the observation deck of the tallest tower in the capital. The sorcerer could feel a tear in the fabric of space, like the one that forms when a portal of time is opened. Yet tonight's magic was unlike anything he had detected before. Such tears do not close on their own: through them comes one who does not belong in this world, and to restore the integrity of time, the guest must return whence he came. Speaking an incantation, Abu-Bakir scattered over the map the glittering dust of a ground-up crystal of time. It worked! The sorcerer had managed to mark two points upon the map: the place where the stranger had set foot on this land, and the place where the fabric might have worn thin enough for a portal to open. All that remained was to find a Lord ready to set out at once and see the guest safely to that exit.
Abu-Bakir sent postal gargoyles off into the darkness and settled in to wait, wearily rubbing his temples by candlelight.
Valiant Lords and Ladies of the 5th combat level and above are called to the environs of the Kingdom Castle to escort the mysterious guest to the portal of time.
Important additional information:
The tear will close together with the departing festival, so the guest can be helped only today or tomorrow — until 23:59 on the 1st of September. All 10 battles are available at once. Each defeat weakens the enemy's strength, but at the same time it lowers the gold reward for defeating them and every subsequent opponent. You may fight in any equipment, but a mysterious magic will block the effect of modifiers. Stay vigilant and spend your strength wisely, so that combat exhaustion does not overtake you!
