Does "damage on troops" work on spells casted by my troops?

for Gaara:
you have paladins and treefolks and dreadbanes! your troops are much better than mine.your tactics are a bit different.and evasion is really good.I'm thinking of getting priests.
i am not sure of getting the logic of the "treefolk" tactic. Just ended a fight where my so called partner waited for more than half the battle to get slain without hitting anything whatsoever...

Because he used it not the way it should be.. First of all Ironroot treefolks has 'Take roots' special ability.

Take roots:
When this creature defends, it gets +50% defense instead of the normal 30%, as well as 'Unlimited retaliation' special ability, for its one turn.
If the lord in control of it has the 'Stand your ground' talent, defense bonus is doubled.


And secondly, it is good to have big defense bonus on your hero, also creatures that can cast spells like stoneskin, evasion.. I use exorcists and clerics which can cast bless, stoneskin and chastise.

What is this event?
are the attack% and defense% increases calculated before or after the attack /defense bonus from arts is added to the creature?
i think first the damage is calculated by att and def. Lets say creature X deals 500 damage on creature Y. And lets assume you have +20% att, then you do 500*1.2 = 600 damage.

and for defence, if enemy deals 500 damage to you, and you have 20% defence, then you receive 500*0.8 = 400 damage.

or at least it should be something like this, since the attack and defence parameter did not change at all for me, regardless how much % i had.
yeah, i just double checked this last battle, and i think you are correct.
so in theory, getting 100% defence would make you immune to all ranged and melee damage. But it would take too much crystals to do ^^

the difficulty depends on the amount of crystals you have.

25% Initiative(+17% from arts+ a rapid)=24 initiative for sky shamans

Hmm..I might have to start using them again,Guards+ crusaders is no longer useful.

Can the admin consider nerfing the dreamwalkers/dreamreavers ? I mean they have no mana and yet they caste mass spells all the time and the dmg output is too much.I have lost almost all my battles due to huge stacks of dreamwalkers.
