The difference is that offense gives melee damage boost, though cold blade is general damage boost. Also cold blade is magical, not physical (but the base magical damage depends on physical attack). My opinion only, don't hate me if I'm wrong, I prefer using common sense by reading the manual rather than testing.

Angels deal 575 damage to Tribal cyclops. 2 perish.
1.3 from expert offense
1.1 from cold blade
1.1 from retribution
3 from three angels
46 from min/max damage
62 from angels attack
29 from tribal cyclops defence
if cold blade was calculated with 0 defence you would get
1.3*1.1*3*46*((1+0.05*(62-29))+0.1*(1+0.05*(62-0))) = 603.8604 |

| Whoever wanted to know for sure about this cold blade issue should have looked at some low level player with cold blade in a hamster battle. You wouldn't even need to do the math to see if cold blade ignored defense :P |

I remember there was a similar question on cold blade before, and we were told that it ignores defense. Sorry, my previous post has been misleading. I would prefer them to be deleted if its right to do so. But i'm glad this has been tested now. |
