Should I build resistances after FSL 9?

AuthorShould I build resistances after FSL 9?
Just to add to this something I just realised. The conventional wisdom (which is true) is that it is cheaper to get faction resistance early as then you have to pay for less castle buildings overall. This wisdom is negated if you ever decide to play that faction anymore. Therefore do this preferentially for factions you are not likely to ever return to at some higher level.

In the long term the difference in castle costs - vs money gained for each additional level means that financially higher level players can build faction resistance a bit easier. Also by this time they have higher labourers guild etc. Ie when you move from combat level 14-15 you have no more buildings unlocked (short of diamond upgrades) but 250,000 gold and a heap of resources given to you. Cost per battle of higher level artifacts show relativey minimal inflation as well.

So when building resistance keep in mind that you will have more financial freedom later - so be careful over commiting yourself earlier on - in the long haul financial management will become easier with more freedom.
This is true, but don't forget that on high levels the castle costs are getting a lot higher. The cost to improve the castle from level 12 to 14 (with tier 5 upgrade) is between 300k and 400k. I managed to do this upgrade for one of my castles with the gold I got from levelling to 15 (and the gold I had).

But yes, you can get a lot of gold later in the game by levelling, especially if you buy the upgrades with diamonds. But the cost of the castle also increases, although you can do some battles with low level (level 8 I think) castle.
Actually it's not that bad.

Let's look about tiers upgrades.

Tier 1 cost something about 25-30k, which is a big shock at first.
Then tier 2 cost about 50-60k, pretty much the double.
Then tier 3 cost 75 - 80k mostly likled.
Then tier 4 about 100k or so.
And so on, there's NOT 50k then 100k, then 200k...

The thing is, at level 5 beginners don't expect such amount of gold needed, and at level 8 the cost doubles, while at higher level it gets a lower inflation, more time to farm gold and a much bigger reward for level up.

Besides, tier upgrade is not necessary to level up resistances. So if someone wait further he'll get.
+ More time to farm gold. (Enrolls, MG, events, survilog etc.)
+ Bigger gold/resources reward from level up.
+ Smaller inflation increment in comparison to early stages. (The only exception would be the tier 7 creatures, which has a large jump in cost to build.)

So with a minimal of pragmatic vision, it's doable to build everything needed quit easily, just need to plan ahead what the person is wanting to do.
Problem is, some people don't know what pragmatic vision is.
Following from this I thought I would actually work it out fully.

I have put the data in here - https://www.lordswm.com/photo_pl_photos.php?aid=267327&pl_id=4366341

This is using the knight castle as an indicator - I am assuming that castle costs are roughly equivalanet across all factions.

I have put the cumulative costs of all castle buildings as long as any new ones per availability - i have also put the equivalent level up bonus/bonuses (some level ups do not have new buildings - eg 15 - therefore some levels have been skipped. As a consequence I have put together the two level bonuses to gether where relevant

Eg level 16 shows castle costs for this level (+ for 15 which is 0)
The level up costs are then that for level 15 and 16.

I then worked out the difference between the castle costs for one faction and the gold earned (not just direct but financial equivalent of resources as well).

The conclusion of this is that up to level 8 (with the exclusion of level 6) you get less in per level up than you need to pay out. Past this you get more in from levelling than you have to pay out.

As a consequence people shoud not underestimate the difficulty of building faction resistance to greatly across a number of factions early on. Later on you can do this without fear of not having enough gold to upgrade your main when you level up due to the gold gap.

Since I am now level 14 and I am looking forward to the better ratio of gold per level up :)
I have almost got fsl 3 for DE, and im planning on getting a few to fsl 3 before I move on to 4. So any suggestions which faction I should do next?
knight, tough enemy for elves.
Good idea :)

What about Necro btw?
