Levelling factions

So from what I understand it's a good idea to get the first 2-3 levels in most factions, as you get a passive 6-9% defensive bonus against those types of creature at a very moderate cost (those few hundred FPs wouldn't account for much of a level of your main faction).

Now, question is, which to get ? I have knight to 2 (which I understand is the most valuable, as it's the only one that also helps in MG quests), dwarf 2 and barb 1. I'm thinking get "everything" to 2 and knight to 3, but which everything ?

It seems magic troops (wizard, Dark ? Elf ? Demon ?) wouldn't be as high a priority for the obvious reason -- defense works on might not on magic. So should I get Knight to 3 and Barbarian, Dwarf Tribal to 2 ?

Anti faction resistance helps you at PvP fights but not at PvEs. So basically 3% protection from all sources per anti-fsl level of that faction.
Its good to have atleast 3-4 anti-fsl from all factions.

For starting, and at your levels, give priority to mages - Wizards and Dark elves.
Also elves. Since elves and dark elves are most popular faction, you face them most of times, so its better to have resistance against them.

But you have to maintain good balance between your main faction and anti-faction.
Don't make too much anti-fsl, so that your faction gets weak.
General strategy you can follow is to build faction resistances from events ( Which do not need castle constructions - Just like current Portal of Time, which ended ).
Seems getting lvl 2 is very cheap anyway, just 50 points.
Knight doesnt give anti for mg quests anymore just so you know. Nothing does now.

Would be better to say that it helps in any battle with enemy controlled by a hero. So WG errands with heroes too.
Is this true ? Even if AI hero ? Because it would make a lot of difference.
