If this change would come, I am sure most people will try to travel as less as possible, and much more people like darkelf84 will appear. | I see this as the "pick pocket" suggestion. And yes it would rarely happen and would be random.
The extra gold would trigger separately from the steal artifact.
The artifact would be random either from your entire inventory or just the arts you are wearing, so getting something enchanted would be unlikely. | ok, so imagine this.

That thing is worth something around 800k, and someone steals it for 1 battle.
or what about this, you are a collector and like finding rare artifacts (like the magic wand, anniversary necklace etc etc). Sooner or later we will get much more of those artifacts, just like .ru
So you bought an expensive one, for 200 000 gold, it has 50/50 durability and you are proud of it. Now some thief steals it and it becomes 49/50.
But I ll stop being annoying here now;

You want to steal the arts and the money of someone that is traveling? Why should someone travel at all? Did you forget that people at the moment are having sometimes over 700k, because they are saving money for months just to get someday a TGI.
You just want to take even the slight hope of getting a TGI away from this poor souls? | Also this will discourage many people. It will make Thieving much more important and few will be able to afford TGI(other than real money users). I dont see this as a way to make thieving profitable, just more interesting. The only consistent way to make money is to enroll, everything else is just a money sink.

How often to people get ambushed by thieves? Im just guessing here but I think I have been ambushed less than 100 times. After 100 ambushes I could expect to lose extra gold 1-5 times, in the amount of between 400-800 gold each time being my gold is normally between 300k-600k. And after being ambushed 100 times I could expect to lose 1 artifact for 1 hour and 1 lose of durability 1 time. For me that is somewhere around 400-4000 gold, and 1 art in 2 years. Some people may travel more than me, and get ambushed more, so maybe they have similar results for 1 year instead of 2.
I dont see this having anything but a minimal impact on anyones game. This isnt .ru where we get events or special artifacts. We have no special arts, worst thing that could be stolen is something enchanted. How many enchanted arts do you have? 2 out of 40 maybe, thats a 10 percent chance of one of them being taken.
The biggest impact would be not having an art when you wanted it. But it would still be just 1 hour, and only about 1 time in 100 times being ambushed. what if the player has a 4*10% enchanted art? Soon, maybe even 5*10% >.>
those take about 1 mil gold each to make, and i don't think any player would want even the slightest chance, even a 10% chance of that particular art being stolen, out of a 1% chance of any art being stolen | the possibility to occasionally steal artifacts, perhaps requiring thief guild 5 or something like this -- many arts excempt from theft
I agree if there a possibility to steal artifacts, but only from AI Caravan. More stronger caravan have more precious treasure, the gold/item increase depend the Caravan level. So we can cover our arts durability cost.
Actually it's not make sense if our financial diminished, not increased when thieving someone. So i think thieving should give us some profit. No offense, just my opinion :) | for SwitchBlad3:
The art stolen could only be used in 1 battle, and in 1 hour would be auto-returned if it was used once or not. Basically it would be equivalent to renting it for 1 use for 1 hour, a 1k-2k value. I understand not wanting others to touch your things, but the cost/loss of that art for 1 use for 1 hour is rather small even when the art is worth 1 mil.

But what about it's value as a collector's item? (referring to post#23)
Would u want a rare art like anniversary pendant/new year's wand to suddenly have less durability cuz u lost an ambush? Even if the arts in question are next to useless, they can't be re-stocked :) | Most of people now thieving with min AP cause that have no much difference between killing a stronger caravan or a weaker caravan. Even there are some player stalking or tracking another player to avoid AI Caravan.
So if the stronger caravan have a greater chance to drop special item/shop arts maybe that can be more interesting and people probably prefer caravan than human player ;P
Maybe like MG, if we win caravan, we get 0.5 point.
If we lose, we get -1 point. The greater point, the greater chance to drop items. |
