They surrounded him with daggers. The king just uttered two words "BITE DOG". the lieutenant pounced on the courtiers and massacred them all. Over the ages the legend of the bite of the dog propagated. Eventually as it is centuries will ravage words and phrases till they are unrecognisable (like the word lacert turned into lizard) the phrase bite dog changed to bigoted and that is the long and short of it. |

Listen here, NOBODY Out-Etymologies me okay. You are clearly out of depth here there are some elementary mistakes in your story, it was not not Norfolk it was actually Pudding. Also the crossover of the word Bigod into the french vocabulary didnt cause it to evolve to its modern state because loan words and proper nouns are not phonetically changed upon adoption. The reason why it changed to bigoted is because of the saxons and germanic tribes later loaning a loan word which was no longer a proper noun. SMH miles i expected better of you. Your lack of research is appalling. |
