Battle involving multiple players are often annoying - especially towards the end.
One team has clearly victory in hand but the losing team must wait, wait, wait until all units have been crushed. Worse still, many players start playing "at ease" when the battle is already over, getting to HWM only once in a while, making the end last even longer.
Could it be possible to introduce a "surrender" button? Perhaps a hero option like attack and magic? If *ALL* surviving players of a given side have pressed "surrender" button then battle would be immediately over. Otherwise it would have no effect. Perhaps people could retain the troops still surviving at that point, or start regenerating from zero - I prefer the former, but any option for surrendering would be better than waiting forever for the final blow.
Thoughts? | The main problem is the experience gained from the victorious team. Should they only get the exp for the monsters that have been killed?
If they only get the exp for the slain monsters, it would make group battles less interessting, because you never know whether it is worth fighting.
If not, and you get all the experience, there would be an imbalance between the winners and the losers. That way you could abuse the function and use a mult to increase the Combat level of a hero quickly for could fight every couple minutes and gain full exp.
I think the idea is good, but the problem is hard to solve. You should probably let them lose their entire army. | 2.
"The main problem is the experience gained from the victorious team. Should they only get the exp for the monsters that have been killed?"
Yes, both for fairness reasons and to prevent abuses. The surrendering would be an option left to the losing team to end things quickly. It implies that you know that battle is lost - and wasting 15 minutes real-time to dispatch these last 10 golems isn't going to change much experience-wise.
The important detail is that ALL active players of a team should decide to surrender for the surrendering to take effect. It would prevent abuse, and if regeneration of the losing team starts at 0 I won't see how this system can be abused? | If all members of a team had to click the surrender button for something to happen, I could see this being a decent option. My main fear would be teams who are working together quitting immediately simply because they don't like the opposing team's setup, or simply because their opponents turned out strong or somehow different than they expected. A potential remedy might be not displaying/enabling the button until the first round or two had been completed. |
