When you are offered a task, the opponents may be "vanguard of dark elves {a number}". What does this number stand for? The strength of the army or something else?

strength.. at first - 0.. then more and more.. and enemy bocomes more and more powerfull

It depends which type of task it is really. The ones where you have an ally (bowmen, magi etc) seem to be much easier.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
