| howm is really based on Homm serie. most content of the game is taken from Homm5. but there are some changes: barbarians are taken from homm3 with changes, elfs are made much-much-much stronger then in any homm.admins also added unique arts,potions,mini-games, heroes. the stats system is rebased. there are so many small differences that i can tell about them for a couple of hours, as i am a big fan of homm serie.but though this game is based on homm 5, it`s not homm5 at all. |
this game is obviously taken from HoMM. the questions should be:
1. Does ubisoft knows this game exists?
2. Is this game protected by copyright or is this game licensed by HoMM copyright holders?
3. The more brutal question is, Is this game legal? Its obviously copying contents and gameplay from HoMM.
No offense to the game admins, but since people are donating real money for this game, shouldn't you make it legal? |
Since servers are in Malaysia and domain name holders in Russia, anyone wishing to attempt a legal action against HWM is going for a legal roller-coaster adventure.
But is HWM illegal in the first place? I doubt it.
- Graphics are different.
- Names are different.
- Business model is different.
Gameplay is somewhat similar, but alone, it's not enough to prevent the game from existing - or there would be no First Person Shooter computer games beyond Doom, back in 1993. And no HoMM concepts were entirely new and original in the first place.
I'm pretty sure HoMM editors are upset by this game. But being upset and winning a lawsuit are entirely different matters. |

HOWM is more likely heroes of might and magic V same units... same spells... and so...this is an online flash version of that game ... and that game is a master pice from my point of view hhehe |
this game is a pure clone of HOMM; but i think the "extra" features developed here make the game somehow different.
