| it says that when ya go from racial skill level 4 to level 5 you get +1 defence & +1% initiative of troops. is the defence to your troops also? cause my defence never went up. |
| I believe both the defense and the initiative apply only to your troops. You will not see the bonuses until you are in battle. |

As Baba said, they aren't applied to your hero. This is because you are skilled with that race. If you change race, you won't have any bonuses to the new race.
You will however have a bonus when facing your former race in combat. (3% for every skillpoint) |
