Authorrain of arrows?
i just turned level 5 and i am an elf i am trying to decide whether to go for luck or rain of arrows. If rain of arrows is true to the description then ill be shooting my allies as well and i dont see a point in that? Does the skill do that and if it does is it worth it?
It wont shoot ur allies. It depends if u want mass attack or not. If you do take it. If not you can get whatever you please. Its your call.
As Doran said, rain of arrows only hits players on the opposing team. As for whether it's a worthwhile talent or not, that depends entirely on your playstyle and preferences. Different talents come in handy at different times. I prefer luck simply because it gives me a lot of extra damage on a single stack. When you look at it, rain of arrows does a small amount of damage to a maximum of 3 different types of units (depending on what kind of fight you're in) whereas luck can give you a huge attack bonus on a single stack. One downfall I've found in rain of arrows is that it becomes quite useless when you're fighting other elves, since you can't have a favoured enemy from the elven faction. My personal preference is luck, but as I said originally, go for whatever fits your playstyle and tactics best.

A related question that I've had for a while...when in hunt, does rain of arrows hit all of the opposing stacks? It would make sense to me that it does since all units in hunt are treated as favoured enemies...
Usually rain of arrows are good against wizards in battle [usually magi separate into few stacks, 2 round hero's turn can kill all of them]

or against single unit stack like imp which usually enemies use to take out the retaliation.

but I prefer luck =]

it's depend for every player
