Hi all..
Im a lvl 3 Necro.
The last few duels, other players have moved onto the step where my dead ghosts are. And when they stand on that step i cant Raise them. and when i cant raise them, i loose everytime.
You might say : just kill the units standing on the step.
that i could do, but my Zombies are kind a..slow... so when i kill that unit, the enemy moves another of his units there and i got the same problem. Meanwhile im trying to kill the unit standing there, the enemy players shooters shot the crap out of me.
In my eyes, this makes the necro useless since he depends a lot on his ability to raise troops. At best it makes it VERY hard to lvl him up, and very very time comsuming..
So my question is this :
Should i just reroll another class and make easy victories over necros or is this a bug that the developers intends to do something about ??
Best Regards

This is intended feature and you should plan your battles so that opponent doesn't have a chance to stand on corpses of your troups. |
what ? u kidding ?
in my eyes its a cheater way to get a easy victory...
and please do tell me, how i can plan my battles so opponent cant stand on my ghosts dust ?
The ghosts have to get in melee combat, hence they close in on enemy lines. Wich makes it easy for enemey to plant a unit on the dust. Even more easy considering that Necro troops are VERY slow initiative wise... |

Plan your turns, care about order of turns in combat, cover dead corpses with your own troups (for them to move aside later and raise).
And most important - you can raise units before they are totally killed.
So, if you have just a couple of Ghosts left - raise them before they are killed. |
+4
I play necro since the beginning, and with a good planning of your turns, you will be able to raise your ghosts easily.
IMO, necro is one of the most powerful faction, if well played (and with a little luck with the "miss" thing on ghosts ^^)
As Huntress said, try to raise them when there's still a couple of them alive (though "alive" isn't really the right word for ghosts ^^) |
hehe true true, they not entirely alive...
But how to plan your turns better ? when u are so slow as we are.
for every turn my zombies have, the enemy have 2-3 moves/attacks. And Zombies are about the most powerfull troop type i currently have.
Skellys dies when the enemy just look at them hehe...
but maybe i can try split them up a lot, and use them to cover my ghosts.
Another problem is that i can have 12 ghosts now. with a little luck, the enemy can kill the ghosts AND move his other troops to stand on ghost spot, and all that before its my turn again... |

First, it's quite rare thing to kill all Ghosts in one turn.
Also, you shoud already know that there is "Wait" button. Wait with hero - it's very useful for raising purposes. |
I looked at your last battle, and I think you could have win, if you had go on bowmen as fast as possible with your ghosts, instead of losing time with forest keepers on the way.
And don't forget that you can wait with hero, to have him raise your zombies or your ghosts just before their turn. It can help you to maximize the damages. If you raise them too early, your opponent has the time to kill some before their turn... |
hmm seem i have to experiment a bit.
Btw,Huntress it happend to me twice now that my ghosts were killed before it was my turn again. 3-4 groups of shooters and some melee troops to stand on my dead ghosts, and others to take out zombies and skellys..
but ill do some experimenting on splitting the skellys to cover dead bodies and also experiment on hero waiting time..
Thx for the input, it helps a lot :-)
ill prolly post here again, to tell how my experimenting went if thats okay ? |

Try to keep them out of enemy shooters' range - they do just half dmg if your troups aren't in range. |
Jup, but then again i have to engage in melee..but yes, i must time the attack so i start the attack from just outside thiere max effect shooting range so to speak...then charge in to attack..
anywyas, my last duel was against a Wood Elf.
i lost but it was a close call. i split the skellys in 5 grps of 2 in each and had them "hover" just outside the battle zone.
i think one mistake i made, was that i raised my ghosts allready when there was 6 left. so i kind a "wasted" 2 raising points, but i was afraid that he would kill them, if i waited another round...
time to wait for the mana to recharge...sigh... |
One or two things after seeing your battle versus Lodott :
- Why did you raise your zombies, you should have save mana to raise ghosts a second time instead.
- Don't forget to use your skels to take the retaliation, before hitting with your ghosts.
This time, you were very close to win. Try again, don't forget my advices and Huntress' ones, and I think you'll succeed soon ;) |
hehe true true, practice makes perfect as ppl say :)
i raised the zombies, cause i wanted to attack him on 2 sides...
that did not work though heh..
and about my skellys i was too focused on saving them to step in to cover the spot where the ghosts would die..
but next time....hehe... |
i fought Lodott again, and this time i won hehe |
nice ^^ |
Grats on the win. Although it will remain a mystery to me, why the elven bows didn't shoot the ghosts right when they were in range. |
Yes, this is a mystery to me too ^^
This guy focus on zombies, I don't know why... |
Ermm..level 5, and above, Not stepping on a necro corpse is like signing your own "quit" warrant. |
Yamaneko, i focus on zombies at the moment since they are about the toughest and best unit i have. i dont have to be that unlucky with the ghosts, before they are toast..
so as long as im only lvl 3, i like my zombies..
but definately looking forward to Vamps...
and thx on the grats :)
and nice to see the response, so thx for that :) |
I was talking about Lodott, who focuses on shooting your zombies instead of getting rid with the ghosts ^^
By the way, I'm lvl 5, si I have vamps and... i still think that ghosts are the ones who can really make the difference in battle. |
