I´m vetaran of Heroes of m&m 2-5.
And i always fafored the magic.
But here the balance is totally on might.
Magic is totally not powerfull enough.
Not even dark-elfs and wizards benefits much from magic
(only ones who uses magic)
That should be fixed.
Specially lvl 1-2 magics to be powered.
It´s rediculous that knights and elfs dont use magic. |

look, HoWM isnt like HoMM.
with the limited troops you can had in HoWM, magic will totally trash you out in afew shot if it is too powerful enough. |
The only problem with magic is with the talents now, the dark elf magic become powerfull than mages magic, thats strange! |

haha.. lol.. magic have been too overpower, one shoot with good speel power can kill more than half my elven bowman.. still need more benefit?? :p |
I think too that the "magic path" is too hard.
Note how +Spell Power and even +Knowledge items are dearly priced in the artifact store compared to +Att and +Def ones - that's telling something.
But basically, magic users have one main problem: if you invest in magic, your troops are weak. Take Dark Elves for example. They have many talents to choose from and their troops are clearly made for attacking. But if the Dark Elf chooses to get magic hat, magic cloak, etc. his troops are stuck with their basic attack and defense, and unable to inflict the damage needed.
A Hero loading on Attack and Defense have no such issue. His troops clearly benefit from his artifacts, his direct attacks too, and he has no mana issues to deal with.
There's always might, and sometimes magic. But if you choose magic you lose might.
If artifact spell power and knowledge bonus carried out to troops like attack and defense artifacts do, on the other hand... It would get interesting. But don't count on it =) |

You didn't get my point. Might is cheaper and carried on to troops, magic isn't. That's the problem. |

Where have you seen tournament result? It's not even finished!
And if wizards win, that means magic - and not mini-artifacts - are powerful. So true. That's why everyone is sooo happy about Dark Elves either. [/sarcasm] |
personally i don't understand how Knight and elf can cast speed, bless and so on

Go fight a group of lorekeepers, or a high level caster (with lightning spell), and then come back here saying magic is not powerfull.. Oh if only my knight could dish out hundreds of points of damage every turn. |
Magic is good in PvM mode, but in PvP mode i maybe not weak, but poor. |
Kimbert: even a level 10 caster with 9 spell points invested in spell power can only deal 110 damage with lightning and that only for first 2 turns. So i don't know where you are getting hundreds of points of damage every turn. And have you fought a high level caster with lightning for you to say they are powerful. And wizards in hunts don't count either because of thier hidden boost to spell damage.
Lorekeepers don't count because they are creatures. If a creature does huge damage then it is a problem with the spellpower per creature that is a problem and not the spell itself. |
btw
magical heroes must wait max 30m min. for full mana restore, and might only 15 for hp restore.
For me this is not balenced, too.
I.e. barbarians may hunt twice then wizards. |
True but do you actually need mana to participate in hunts? Do you need mana or spell power to do anything not really for wizards it would be wise otherwise they will be weak its DE's own choice what path they will follow you dont need full mana your units can win without your heros help |
