Elementals done not have souls, minds, etc. They are summoned by the hero to fight. Elementals are a fairly well balanced faction,with more more meelee fighters and few spellcasters.

1)Lesser Elementals
Lesser Elementals are the weakest kind of elemental,summoned by begginner summoners. They are somewhat slow and dont have very good initiative.

Element change: At the beginning of the match, elementals have no element, but once per match an elemental stack may choose any of the following elements:earth,fire,water,air,light,or darkness.

Elemental resistance: Only applies for the element they currently have activated. An elemental without an element has no elemental resitance.

1+)Soldier Elemntals
Soldier Elementals are veteran lesser elementals. They are somewhat larger,faster, and tougher.

2)Elemtal Archer
Elemental Archers are basically Lesser Elementals that are trained in the ways of archery.

Elemental Crossbowmen are larger and tougher than Elemental Archers, and use a crossbow instead of a bow.

overall how come elemental commanders lose doulble strike ability after upgrade?fix that.its quite weak but Elementals are a bit too strong.damage should be 4-5.4-8 is too much.
4)Greater Elemental
Greater elementals are 8 feet tall, as wide as bus,and are perhaps the greatest type of elemental known to man.

7)Original Elementals
Original Elementals are where all elementals came from.They only give the greatest summoners permission to call upon them.10 feet tall and bigger than 10 full grown men,they are a devastaing force.

add on: the original elementals should have double shot and double strike abilities
what is the elemental archer and this is a bit like knight but over powers it when knight bowmen have 4 attack it has 5 attack when farmer has 1 attack urs has 2 attack pretty good but overpoers the knight fraction.
elemental archers are like lesser elementals with bows

they do not overpower knights because knights have stun, rage, and large shield abilities

I think that the original elementals should have either double shot or double strike, but not both orelse they would be a overpowered.

Perseus, I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but an Elemental Faction already potentially exists, and just needs to be reworked a bit to fit into this game. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Faction Conflux. The only real change that would have to be done is a tier 1 unit change since the elves have the sprites, and making the elementals not being pretty much full tier 3.5 from tier 2-5. Below is the unit names in HOMM3 of the conflux, unupgraded and upgraded. Note, all elementals had elemental immune/weakness to same and opposite element. Also elementals were immune to mind effect spells.

Pixie - Sprite (flying, sprite had no retal)
Air E - Storm E - (flying, upgrade got ranged attack, no melee penalty)
Fire E - Plasma E. (upgrade got flight, could cast prot-fire)
Water - Ice (large unit, upgrade got range attack,no melee penalty)
Earth - Magma (upgrade got cast prot-earth)
Psychic - Magic (Had no retal+battledance, upgrade immune to all spells)
Firebird - Phoenix (large unit, breath weapon, fire immune, upgrade got 1 self-res when dead.)

I feel that your army idea seems a bit bland to be honest, and the elemental change is a bit convulted and ugly to work with, due to the fact, would that take a turn to do, why would someone want to bother casting elemental change against anyone that can actually cast chaos magic, if they were serious casters, they'd have multiple spell elements by the time it's needed, and magic punch if not. Although your army has good init across the board, your melee would be shredded quickly because of their completely lousy movement rate. The units can only just make it across the board going in a straight line, in 2 turns.

Magic elementals have not "Battledance" but rather "Six-headed attack"
I mean they do full damage to all stacks.
