Author | Does stoneskin protect from ranged attacks? |
Someone told me stoneskin only lessens MELEE or PHYSICAL attacks. Doesn't stoneskin lessen RANGED attacks too? (Ranged attackers are archers, bowmen, etc.) |
Since it increases defense, and since everything but magic attacks are related to attack/defense I would say it does decrease ranged damage... |
It decreases ranged damage, just like physical damage.. |
thanks |
The only physical damage it dun reduce is magic punch |
stoneskin increases your defence rating, a higher defence rating protects from damage from somethin g with an attack rating.
every creature has an attack rating, is it uses that to attack (eiterh ranger of melee), it granbts protection,
it does not work against:
spells,
hero attacks
certain abilities that negate or lower defence
(lizard cavalary charge and crossbow men aimed shot) |
i wonder why you do not consider an arrow shot physical... |
Overseer, depends on which definition of "physical" you use. I meant "physical" as a close synonym of melee. Here's the definition I meant:
"characterized by energetic bodily activity; "a very physical dance performance"
http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=physical
It makes more sense to talk about "energetic bodily activity" that is close-ranged, with swords etc. We just don't think about bows in that way.
I was unsure whether the readers here would understand "melee", so I wanted to use a close synonym to convey my idea. |
