i', probably not the only one who is ennoyed by all the afk players, so i'm not gonna tell just how enoying it is :x
right now its 5 turns "wait" then leave the battle
maybe you can change it to 3 (or if missed the first turn) 2
and instead of leaving, place the troops under an allys control
then afk is still ennoying becouse of some waiting time.. but at least like this you won't have already lost wen you start ';)

If 'take over control' of 'afk-ing' allied troops is not possible for game designers, how about introducing 'AI' then. Hmm..basic all out attacking mode would be sufficient, or else this function would be exploited :P |

but then ppl can basically just join a battle go away and do something else and the AI did all the works meaning he needs to do nothing to lvl up...

Yeah, they get nothing for AFKing, like usual. That part doesn't change. But their troops still help out. |
The AFK problem as been beaten to death.
The only solution I found was to create a Clan to get rid of it - the Warriors' Guild.

Now, I'd like to mention that AFK players are a pain not only because of the loss of time, but also because of the defeat they imply; an AFK player can waste a group battle just by missing one or two turn, without losing 5 turns in a row (imagine a Necro passing his/her turn when it's time to resurrect a Ghosts stack!!)
If your solution is implemented, if some AI kicks in after just 1-2 turns lost, whatever, I guarantee that you'll still lose your battles if you have an AFK player on your side.
The only solution is to play with reliable people. Hence the Warriors' Guild. |

I'm not advertising for a clan - I advertise for the only compatible solution I found to try to get rid of AFK players. Believe me, if there wasn't any AFK problem the Warriors' Guild would not have existed, I'd have 30'000 more gold in my inventory and the game would be more enjoyable for everyone.

not disturbing.. just stating why i'm trying to find a solution..
anyway, even tough the winning chances get reduced, if it happens, its much les ennoying if
- you get control of the other stacks..
- ai takes over
and ofcourse the afk wouldn't get xp..
(maybe negative xp??.. just a thought)
they can make a allie run away after 5 turns.. i'm sure they can change the code, that it doesn't run away but stays and ai takes over.. |
oke.. another more sophisticated (i like to use big words :x) solution
lets say a player misses his turn.. the computer makes the turn instead.. (ai)
the next turn this player gets ai takes over immediatly, so the other players don't have to wait
the player whose turn has been made gets a big "click wen back" sign
and the player gets a penalty for every missed turn (-20 everything per missed turn)
ai is never as good as a humen (.. well ) anyway.. this way the other players don't have to wait, and its not immediatly a lost fight |
what would happen if the ai controlled army actually won? :)
you ppl will be moaning about that..then wanting a different solution..
i think if a player walks off (afk) obviously before he/she has attacked anyone then there should be a sort of button to press that quits the match,or a button where it takes the players back to the battle screen and wait for another player to join up....
but ai is definately not the answer |

It occurs even to the best... In that case, the only solution is to seek compensation. Write excuses via PM to people involved, and offer them gold for artifact durability loss. One Warriors' Guild member paid 500 gold this way to a hunt partner. It helped a lot restore the mood of the victim :) |
well.. if the ai won.. it wouldn't bother me in person (exept that i was unable to beat a computer.. chezz is really a pain)
anyway.. if its about compensation..
option for creater.. everyone pays "x" coins.. thats the pot for a team..
if someone from that team leaves the other 2 gt the pot..
something like this
(optional.. so people without money can enter other fights or start them for themselves)
owh and a little something..
i just found out there is a button in your setup wich sets a sound everytime its your turn..
you should set this button and sound on by default not off..
maybe just helps for 1% of afks.. but still.. |
