Probably one of the most annoying things outside Marathon runners. Raise Dead is useless if they are standing on your stack, and I really have an issue with that, because it makes very little sense. Maybe have the stack appear in an adjacent square or something. I can't stop your magic punch, I can't stop your Stone spikes, why should you be allowed to stop my raise dead? I think the spell needs some tweeking, because raising the dead is a huge part of the necro class, and when they stack camp it's both cheap and unbalanced that the Necromancer class can be totally and utterly shut down by a well placed stack of 2 hobgoblins. Might just be me though.
well im a necro too but if it you couldnt stop neros from rasing they would be hard to beat cause u cant stop their stratgy
You have other Stacks. Small stacks you can kill, large stacks let Corpsestand forever and so on.

Its part of the Strategie. If you really need something, dont let it die where someone can Corpsestand.

I even won battles, because People stood dumb on my Vampires or Ghosts instead of attacking me

btw they don't have to all be dead for the spel to work..

Are you aware of how slow undead are? They're all melee units for me right now, and I have to send them in, where I get grouped on and killed. Then they stand on the ghosts. I dunno, I guess I find stack camping to be lame. Makes Necro obsolete. No other race is shut down solidly if you stand on their dead. It actually A) makes the already weak Necro race even more worthless, B) makes me wonder how they could let this happen because in the PC games nothing like this is an issue.

But maybe thats just me. I might just be whining, which wasn't my intention. I just thought i'd pitch the idea since the spell/class is useless to me at level 3. My zombies are so slow I can't clear stacks then move onto them, my skeletons are both worthless and long gone by now, and my ghosts are attacked, killed, and camped before my turn or my zombies can clear them. I don't think any other faction is entirely shut down like a crack house by the NYPD like Necro, just from standing on things.

P.S. I'm not an idiot, I know you can raise dead on stacks with things still in them. It's just a matter of me not getting my turn even remotely fast enough once the gang-bang starts.
Lacey_case, there is a reason for the wait button. Undead's speed can be designed to your advantage if you change the turn listing right.
maybe if u use good strategy and don't charge all ur units, u won't have that problem where ur ghosts are in the middle of enemy troops, and everything can hit it lol
Lacey: Right now you might feel the pain since ghosts are only strong unit and people stand on them. but once you gain a few lvls, get skel archers, vamps (lvl 5). Then you will find that even with corpsestanding necros are one of the stronger factions. and using the wait button you should be able to time it so you can ressurect your troops most of the time.
I changed to Dark Elf and find that I win 9 times out of 10 instead of 1 time out of 10. Don't rush? They're all melee, it's not like I have the leasure of Rogues. Zombies have to get to the action because they're so useless, and whats the point of having ghosts if I don't rush them? If I keep them back they get archered anyway and if I raise them they still didn't do damage. Necro is worthless.
welcome to dark elf family. I am sorry to tell you, once you get level 5 as dark elf, you will again win 1 time out of 10...
At level 3 Dark Elf I had 10 rogues and 13 minotaurs. At level 4 I have...11 rogues and 13 minotaurs. Just need to pick another new class, I guess.

well, if you wanna be a real cheater you might want to play as a mage(and start saving on miniarts) or a knight.

And btw necro are one of the strongest factions in game, so maybe there's something wrong with your strategy, rather then balance? Just a thought.
I don't think i've ever lost to a Necro. In fact, at level 3 and 4 me and my team members stand on their ghosts, save their zombies for last, and cream them because their zombies are too slow and they have no attack magic. If you're having trouble with Necro's maybe it's your strategy.

Just a thought.
Upon closer inspection of the Gating ability of demons, if you stand of their circle the stack spawns in a random adjacent square. And yet our racial spell is shut down in such a way. I imagen it wouldn't be impossible or even difficult to make Raise Dead do the same exact thing.
you can block gating by block it 3x3 around it -,-
ok Lacey_case this sounds like a MAJOR whine about necros. gating only happens 1 time and u only gate %20 of ur troops. that's not that great.
stop whining and CHANGE 2 SOMETHING ELSE.

or do wat other necros do... think. use the wait button. use arts and ur other units (zombies) have a large amount of HP use that 2 ur advantage.

Gating happens a total of 8 times if the demon has 8 stacks. Furthermore, it gates 20% +4% per demon lvl, so in theory a demon could gate 56% of each stack at demon lvl 9.

And to top it off, you can't stand on a demon gate to prevent it from happening.

So your argument is utterly flawed. Demon gating IS great.
Yes, but necros are all immune on poison and plague shots. Like all others factions have weak spots so do necros have one. I think that all of us want to have our own factions modified strenghtened so it would not have any weak spot, but weak spots are what makes factions equally strong. A good tactician can overcome these weak spots. I once appealed to the admin to improve demon faction, because in my point of view is the weakest faction, but then got told that a lot is in good tactics. In upper levls players are quite unshure which is the strongest faction but one thing is for shure that Necros are one of the strongest factions so there is no need to strenghten this faction.
Necromancers special ability is their skeletons, not their raise spell, even if they get it before other factions by 7 levels. Zombies are pretty useless, and so are skeletons, until you get the archers. However, ghosts are on par with other level three units(almost at any rate, if you use them properly,they have high damage and numbers), and being able to raise them is excellent.
