You don`t need any permission.
Just slash neutral mobs and you`ll get points until you increase your hunter level. | At level 1-2, hunts are between 15-20 minutes, 3+ 40-60 minutes, the time can be reduced through hunter licenses, every time you do a successful hunt, if you were the main hunter, you get hunters' guild points equal to 2 times the faction points. If you are the assistant hunter, you get .1 hunter point for a successful hunt, full hunter information is on the npc guild information page.
