when you are ambushed by a thief, is the thief able to see the placement of your units during the troop placement time?
or does he/she see only the hero and area of placement shaded in grey? |

The thief hero is able to see your id, your unit, your art, your parameter, and able to open your homepage to check our whatever on it. And he/she know the available place (the shaded) for your placement.
But he/she doesn't know how you are going to set them until you start fight.
BTW, the thief are not able to choose which player/computer he/she is going to fight.
