Author | i don't understand magic damages of wizard's spells |
wizards seems to deal extremely high damages with their spells and i don't understand why.
i looked at the help:

the formula for magic damages is:
Magic arrow 4 (Level 1)
Deals Air elemental damage to an enemy target.
no talent 24+8*Spell power
basic chaos magic 32+8*Spell power
advanced chaos magic 40+8*Spell power
expert chaos magic 48+8*Spell power
the formula given in help section seems to work for me (i'm a dark elf, with 4 spell power and my magic arrow deals 56 damages: 24+8*4=56)
now look at this battle :

the level5 wizard deals 168 damages with magic arrow
he is using no artifacts, and have only 3 spell power. his talent is basic erudition.
damages of his magic arrows should be: 24+8*3=48.
he deals 168 instead of 48.
it's like if he had 18 spell power instead of 3 (24+18*8=168)
someone can explain my why wizards deals so huge magical damages? |

Wizards have spell damage bonus in hunts and quests. This bonus depends on wizards' faction skill points. |

but i thought wizard's special ability was mini artifacs.
they have a second ability? (bonuses for hunts)
why isn't this second racial ability mentionned in help section?
and does others factions have special bonuses too, that aren't mentioned in help? |
Yeah - that's the second ability of wizards, but without this, we would lose all the hunts, because wizards' units are just too weak. I don't know why it isn't mentioned in help, and as far as I know, other races don't have such bonuses, but I'm not sure. |
I see the wizard's ability is the extra magic power on hunts and merc quests, while we have an optional ability in the mini arts. The reason I say the mini arts are optional is because it is expensive and some wizards don't even take full advantage of them. Without mini arts wizards are weak in pvp, with mini arts we are balanced with the other factions. In hunts and merc quests, even with mini arts we just cannot hunt very well. A good example of this is to look at any wizard hunting solo spawns or imps. After they drain all our mana we are useless and we can't handle that much imps and spawns (even though they are pretty weak). |
