| I personally prefer to get at least two knowledge points first before putting any for SP as Elf. The reason is simly that without SP all that is needed is to cast at the right time...meaning I will have more mana to use than if I had put one in SP. |

I'm level 7...I can get the +2 attack from arts when faced with tough battle. With easier ones, it doesn't matter as I will soon have +10 attack. In any case, some mana may just be useful when I get raise dead and all those spells next level.
Besides a rapid spell cast at the right time can mean that your sprites, for example, can hit and run when the enemy gets morale. I think 20 mana is worth it for me at level 7. |
So wouldnt it be better to pump all on attack and then buy a potion of oblivion for a few k at level 7 ?

At level 5, I guess I didn't find much use for it except maybe when fighting slow creatures. Even at level 7, you can definitely do just as well without it (it's just a nice backup to have) but level 8 onwards I can see the real benifit of having a knowledge or two so you can use the raise dead spell or something. So yeah maybe getting a potion and changing stats could be a good idea so you can have few extra attack points till lv 7-8. |
