Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong.Im a level 6 elf (about 12.5k fron level 7)The problem Im having is that I am no unable to hunt anymore. All the hunts im getting are red wth the ! in them.Someone told me those are record breakers.I dont care about breaking records I just want to get more EXP.I get maybe 1 hunt per day that I can win now even with help./and on those I'll have to wear full arts to even have a chance.Merc quest are out of the question as I cannot win those at all.It seems like elves cant win the merc quests without buying diamonds(Which I do not have nor can I afford to buy)
its normal to get all hunts...
just press the button "ask for assistance"
and if you still cant beat them with 2 people, use artefacts.....

And that elves cant complete the merc quest is just bullshit
Myself im a lvl 5 elf and i already completed 14 mercernary quests, and its only going to be more (all without artefacts)

And you can always do duels / group battles to get the last bit of exp to the next level...(or thief ambushes)

Use a good tactic, for example this battle:

You could have easily won if you used your sprites properly, but 1 wrong move can lead to the defeat.....

your not reading what I wrote.Even if I get assistance I cannot win 95% of the hunts I get they are all RED with the ! in them.and even on the 5% i can win I have to use assistance and ARTS
and on the Merc Quests I draw the immpossible ones everytime,(like monsters, elves simply cant do them because thier archer run out of ammo long before the monster is even half way down)So you completing 14 your getting easy ones where i get them one that you simply cannot do period
for Drakkon:

I saw some of your battles and here are some comments/suggestion I'd like to make:

I see that you usually take in 11 fks, 6 druids and max sprites and bowmen... I'd really suggest that you max druids completely to make your wall stronger (unless you're going in with max fks). 11 fks will serve absolutely no purpose other than to die in an instant. You can even try splitting your druids into stacks of 1 instead of 2, so the extra ones can be used to fill a gap in a broken wall.

Also it's important for an Elf IMO to vary the army composition depending on the type of hunt. It's good that you take in max sprites against slow creatures and use the hit and run stategy. But you have to ensure you do it at all times...sometimes you don't run far enough, other times you use your maxed up sprites to fill a broken wall (and of course they die). It is ok to sacrifise your bowmen *sometimes* in favour of your Sprites when faced with very slow creatures. Ultimately a tough fight against Zombies, for example, is won mostly through Sprites not the bowmen.

Another thing to keep in mind is that when faced against ranged units, it's better to max up fks rather than go for Sprites. The reason is that when your archers are shot down, they will usually taget the Sprites or Druids next. While Druids can usually take those shots due to their high hp, Sprites will not be able to and will die before you can kill any of their units. FKs are mostly ignored, so you will be able to reach them and start attacking.

Well those are just some changes I'd make...they work for me well. Perhaps other players can suggest different/better strategies.

and on the Merc Quests I draw the immpossible ones everytime,(like monsters, elves simply cant do them because thier archer run out of ammo long before the monster is even half way down)So you completing 14 your getting easy ones where i get them one that you simply cannot do period

Then don't do them. Just keep declining till you get an easy one.
I think you just ran into some bad luck and that affected your moral as a player which is mirrored in your strategy. Take a break from the game one-two days and follow Zyanya's advices. That will help you to get rid of your bad luck.

Good luck!
What Zyanya & CGSMCMLXXV said are true.

Drakkon, I had the same problem as yours when I am level 6. All hunts were red, or red with !. It is good that you can still wear arts, but I couldn't because I was bankrupt due to increase my Smith point lol... xD

If we hunt a lot, our Hunter's Guild point will make the hunt harder for our combat level.

The only solution for your problem is level up. When I write this posting, you are 12,358 away from level 7. Try to join Group Battle or even duel. In both case, even when you lose... you still get Exp point. Collect this point to level up.

And of course, doing Mercenary Quest will give you more Exp point to level up more quickly. There are some easy MQ like Army of ..... or Vanguard of Wizard.
You should focus on MQ instead of Hunting Red with ! to increase your Exp. point.

I promise you, once you are in level 7, all those RED with !, will be Green or even Grey, because level 7 can build Fort to get 25% more troops.
+7,
sorry for double post

I promise you, once you are in level 7, all those RED with !, will be Green or even Grey, because level 7 can build Fort to get 25% more troops

When you level up, you will get +1 primary skill too, and you can start killing those annoying monster again... :)
+7 and 8

Agreed.

If you aren't interested in going for records and want to get xp and level up fast, the best way is to go do group battles or merc quests (the easier ones). Towards the end of a combat level, when you most fight in hunts, the difficulty level does get very high. You just need to get through that patch and once you're level 7, things will a get a lot easier once again.
Zyanya gave you a hint of troops strategy in the combat. h4nd gave you a strategy how to evolve in combat level. I told you how to recover yourself as a player. There is one more thing there should be added about the talents.

You can change your talents any time you want, so, some times it is useful to use the talent to shoot all the stack (for low tier troops), and shoot them with the talent even if they are in one unit (it will give you 30% additional damage), and some times the luck or moral will help you better (especially against the high tier troops). So, study your opponent before the fight, choose the fav enemy (all the hunted monsters will be regarded as fav, except in the mercenary quests), choose your best troops according to the situation, choose your best talent for the case, settle your troops according to the monsters settlement and optimize your combat strategy for the maximum damage (sometimes it's better even to sacrifice some troops to optimize the maximum damage).

I know there are a lot of things to think about, but all of them make part of the faction strategy. So, relax, think about these one or two days without playing, try your strategies and learn from your previous mistakes.

As I stated in my profile info, there is no supreme faction, but there is strategy, patience and the ability of learning from mistakes or from the other strategies (see top hunters).
You can change your talents any time you want, so, some times it is useful to use the talent

Have to definitely second this advice. It's indeed very useful to change talents depending on the opponents you're fighting. Try it, you may do better. :)
Thank you very much, thats the kind of help I was looking for itstead of just telling me Im doing stuff wrong.I needed advice on what to chance to do stuff right.Agan Thank you for you input. As far as using arts goes im trying to acvoid using them right now as
1. they are very expencive
2. Im trying to save cash for my castle upgrades
if you want some artifacts for quick hunts and want to spend cheap bying inexpensive things like wooden sowred and wooden shield sure their duribility is crud but for a couple battles they can give you that extra burst you may need to win
Well, I am glad you opened the discussion about arts. There are many cases when fighting against the second/third tier troops you don't need expensive arts. Mainly, you need those you got from your hunt because they increase your initiative, so, your troop will be twice faster in the stack. I just beat 244 demons (I am level 5) and my arts were mainly those for initiative. Especially for elves, the initiative is one of the most needed ingredient since their power lays on the fast attack (bringing down as many troops as possible before they move). Elves are not so resistant like dark elves or necros (with their rising dead), but, in a fight, their weapon is "kill before move".

Well, you shouldn't take it as a general strategy (orcs are faster than elven bowmen), but this can save you from a lot of troubles during hunting.
