Author | Spell effect on initiative bar |
I am a dark elf, so i have "Delay" into my spellbook.
Anytime I use this spell to slow an enemy stack and permit my stack to surpass the stack affected by the spell and attack first.
It's not easy to calculate the result of the spell and anytime I waste my hero turn (yes, the stack affected is slowed but my attempt to surpass is failed).
My idea is the following: I think that these spells should show on initiative bar the result before I cast those spells.
Like the "wait" icon, if I put the cursor on the "wait" icon it will instantly show me the result of my "wait" on the initiative bar.
It could be useful. What do u think? | i agree | agree. nice idea | I would be very useful indeed, even more so for the wasp swarm spell, that practically has no other useful function but that. Countless times I've tried to use it so my stack can attack the stronger enemy first but the effect wasn't what I expected and ended up loosing the battle. | +1 to idea (it was aready suggested). | Good idea | nice idea | The Delay spell has a precise effectiveness on initiative, based on the level of the Darkness Magic of the caster: 20%, 25%, 30% and 40%. So, you could manually calculate the amount of reduced initiative by simply doing INI-x% (where x is the amount of reduced initiative) and see if the outcome initiative of the delayed units gets lowered enough to let your own troops act before. I personally never tried this, but it may work, and you should just keep your calculator windowed during battle. It shouldn't take more than the time you have to act with your hero. Still, I see this would make things easier. Not that bad idea, after all.
Most weird thing is to reply to a topic started by someone living close to me, and still having to tell him in English... | i agree.
though I like to add that the effect should also take into account the spell duration. many times I've seen my delay spell effect duration go down to 0 and at which point the affected unit jumps ahead on the ATB scale bar. | Good idea | Uh, forget all I said. There is one thing that I had completely misunderstood in the question. Yes I state I am idiot.
Overall, a good idea, arguably one of the best I've heard around, although...hmm...guess I can't say "I like it hard".
Ok, let' say this, I prefer harder challenges and no help this way, but it's just me, and the idea keeps being jolly good. | closed by Lady Hyron (2009-01-08 23:45:20) |
