AuthorFormally defining Additional Characters

I guess you mean that someone will claim to be an additional character of these players, but this can be prevented, when the main has to confirm additional characters.
+

They really should do something against all those multi's
Each day like 100 people are reported and tons of people are blocked.
This is giving the game a bad reputation, so many blocked players
Maybe reduce it to 1 account / player but then an option to completely reset your account
listen ppl
about the checkin ip thing...............it is useless

there are multi proxy softwares which show different ip adresses each time u switch on the internet
I think a big step would be to disable multiple registrations from the same email address

A formal definition might not be as effective as your description per post 1, given the many reasons that players in this thread have posted.

I strongly agree with you from this POV. I would just like to elaborate on the benefits.

Where multis are concerned, they aren't suppose to post forum messages. However, from personal experiences, players do forget sometimes that they're not logged onto their main when posting messages. The idea eliminates this problem.

There are many general rules prohibiting the use of multichars for certain facets of the game. The idea eliminates honest players who breaks these rules due to imperfect knowledge of such information. Players prone to such incidents would be people where English is not widely used and practiced in their country, and also for the young ones, who probably won't be bothered, or understand the rules unless specifically replied to.

It is hard to restrict 1 account to 1 player, as I can always register a new character using another email address. So these proposed suggestions would not work effectively. Restricting by ip, as suggested will not work as well, as KabutoYakushi has mentioned. In addition, ip restriction ignores the fact that players (siblings) could be playing from one computer, and also from public place like Lan shops.

Yes, it is correct that you can still go around it
BUT almost 75% of all the current "cheaters" do NOT know that it is AGAINST the rules

So when this rule will come, 1 character for a person + an option to completely reset your account. Then they understand that a second character is NOT allowed
So you ll have MUCH less cheaters, means MUCH less work for the admins!
Who wants to cheat will do it independently on whatever rules are (enforced or just written). IP, e-mail or whatever other method to restrict the access to this game will stop only a small percentage of cheaters, but we'll block a lot of innocent people.

E.g., how do you distinguish between a multi and a bunch of 10 friends playing from the same connection? You have no way to do it. If you restrict by the number, you can lose nine players and you restrict only one player from cheating. Does it worth the price?
Yes, people that WANT to cheat WILL do it
but most people DONT know it is not allowed to create two accounts and send money from one to antoher ....
