AuthorFAO MasterTI - quizz
You are alittle bit wrong about the quiz and I explained that in #30th post - it's limited by type of mysql data row:
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1846440&page=1#96068

Since the row data type is unknown I suggested lordswm software developers used optimized row data type for small numbers e.g. UNSIGNED TINYINT that can store numbers up to 255 otherwise overflows. You can investigate more about Integer overflows in MySQL there:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=mysql+overflow+integer

So the speed IS limited by MySQL data type :)

PS: I do not care about 1k reward but should have been annonced as the winner though :P
Actually you are wrong, if you would like i can bring arctic along to verify my answer is correct.
That would be nice :P Lets see what arctic says if he knows all the technical aspects of the game.

There are no unlimited numbers in programming fyi.

Well, if there's an overflow, the number can always be increased up to the point where either computing or storage becomes a restriction.

Anyway the question was:
"What is the maximum speed a creature can reach before it becomes impossible to win anymore."

At 255 it could still be possible to win.
When unsigned integer gets overflowed it will get reset to 0 and all the incremental shit happens all over again.

Yes, at 255 it could be still possible to win but it "is the maximum speed a creature can reach before it becomes impossible to win anymore". Do you get it right, don't you? :P
You will probably have to wait untill the server reset or whatever BUT "the maximum speed a creature can reach before it becomes impossible to win anymore" is still 255 :P
thats at least 2491 turns and unlimited is wrong evetally you will run out of hp Ami wanna try lol

Well, if you had vampires, I'm thinking your hp would be a lot more since you could be draining hp during those 2491 turns.

That depends if they used an unsigned integer or not. They could have used other types.
i was thinking what if it was gargs then what
Since the question didn't denote what race or units you have, I assume that the race/unit is in favor of lasting the longest.
ok then what would be the race and the creature
for necro_666:

DE, Shrews
Demon, Cerberi

Medium ehlf but super fast and recruitment is high numbers.
what creature would they face tho
Hydra
Or Faerie
look at this theory:
as soon as any dark elf reaches level 13 (with diamonds) or 14 without
Then they get the O.P. deep hydras that regenerate health when they move

So you do a hunt until you have a few faeries left, in theory they can get a speed of 999 since you heal more each turn than they do damage to you!

Yeah that might be not 255 since I do not know architecture of the database so suggested the best optimized type for speed storage (UNSIGNED TINYINT), but the speed is not "unlimited" in spite of whatever software developers used :P Only database architect can verify the information about the exact number.
I can see where Ami is going and that he's not giving up on his version, so let me comment.

I think MadterTI's answer is correct. Yes, there is a finite value of speed in this game beyond which the creature would gain a negative amount, and to tell the truth it is much smaller than 255. Amis is absolutely right with that, However, MasterTI obviously wasn't asking about the technical aspect, but rather about the game mechanics. In that case it is pretty natural to abstract oneself from the server capabilities an imagine a board game on the ale where you can increase the creatures' speed as much as you want/need.
