I have a question for the development team of this game. What went into your decision of what factions to use. Most of the factions are right out of Heroes 5, but the barbarian faction was taken from Heroes 3. What made you decide to do that? What made you decide to not use more HOMM 3 factions instead of HOMM 5? Also, you went with HOMM 3 gargoyles but took the Rakasha of HOMM 5 over the Naga of HOMM3. Most disappointingly, you went with HOMM 5 dungeon over HOMM 3 dungeon. What were the thoughts that went into these choices? Were they made out for the sake of game balancing or were they just personal preferences.

Both out of personal preference and game balancing, wouldn't have HOMM 3 dungeon been a better option? The Dungeon already has lower recruitment rate then other factions, but it's tier 1-4 creatures aren't just good enough to warrant it, and as a result, at level 5 Dungeon just doesn't match up with other factions, who will typically have their shooters annihilate your Rogues right up front. Admittedly, HOMM 3 dungeon has it's own balancing difficulties, having a tier 3 and 4 shooter that both suffer no melee penalty, along with three flyers (Harpies, Manticores, and Black Dragons), but I think that the large creature and reduced recruitment would have balanced it out. I'll use my current level, level 5, as example. The harpies ability to also fly over stacks may make it a bit more devastating, but shooters often focus on them. Having two shooter units as well also make them quite dangerous, and might make lower level dungeons seem to have an unfair advantage, but really, there's like a 15 unit tier 3 unit limit and a 6 tier 4 unit max, and I think Beholders and Medusas would have made the game more balanced, not making Dungeon overpowered but allowing them to compete with other factions.

So, to reiterate my question, what goes into the decisions that the creators of the game make. Is it mostly their own preferences and balancing ideas, or do they take suggestions or advice from the community? I'm curious, who decides these things, and what determines their decisions?
I'd still like to know the details behind the game creating process. How did they decide which factions to use and which changes to make, and do they listen to community suggestions?
I don't suppose you will find any answer from this post. For sure it wasn't the community which dictated that because there were many complains about this subject during time. And, don't worry, each faction has its own "bad" levels.
You cannot imagine how many people would prefer dark elves to have Harpy Hags instead of shrews!!!! and emmm Medusa Queens instead of Lizard Assailant later on :P
