Economy needs help.

We need a solution, the economy of the game is not working.
There are too much useless items wasted in factories (Ex Mana Tube).
So:
1)Is difficult to find a work in production.
2)Factories are poor and many times remain stopped until anyone buy an item.

I have a solution for this, so here is my idea:

A "Merchant Guild": A guild managed by Merchant. Like Mercenary Guild, Merchant guild could give quests.
But these quests are about travelling, buy an item (requested from the guild) and return it to the guild.
The guild gives moneys (Item average cost) and ask u to buy it. You have *** mins to buy the item and return it (if u fail the quest, money received from the guild to buy the item will be lost).
In this way, all factories could work a little receiving money from the players.
Reward could be a dozen of gold, a very little exp and skill point in Merchant guild.

In addition, if a lord is victim of a rogue and lose the fight, the ambusher could steal the item and the quest will be failed. Like other guilds, Merchant Guilds could have a skill table gaining (for ex) 1 free point to spent in basic stats every 4 skill of Merchant guild.

Maybe we need an extended map before think about my idea.

But I like the idea of "Merchant Guild" =)
hmm interesting, so if i keep in inventory all supply from map, then i could do this quests peaty easy...
they won`t give money before quest you buy using your own money, and if you succeed then they will give you extra 10%, if did not do in time then (stuck with item you bought).
Then other problem (I will not travel around i will stay in one place and buy all stuff from market) and give them back with 10% profit.

But still I like this idea.. :)

Agree .. good idea .. :) will help us with this AP rule that make us HARD to save for buildings and arts .. ^^
Hm. I am conflicted here because my general stance is that the economy is working as it was meant to. However your idea for a Merchant's Guild is not a bad one in that it adds more to do in the game and is fairly feasable.

Whether or not such an idea would be appealing to the devs is beyond me. It doesn't stray too much from the game's framework and doesn't sound like it would need too much work.

On the other hand, what if they send you to buy something that the facility is out of? These missions will be putting all items in higher demand... and could possibly increase shortages and items being sold for higher prices on the market (which I personally don't care about... though I'm well aware many of the players aren't happy with it).

So in the end I guess I will have to say this idea won't work out in the long run. Good general idea... but it will easily lead to more complaining; either directly or indirectly.

Yes that's would be a problem (I stay in one place and buy from market all i need) so the prices in market will rise. and in the end think about this:
There will all factory's forking all the time ( so none will work at mine) and in the end there will be a Huge resource demand - none would be willing to work for 175 gp/hr.
Then lot of mages will complain about mini art costs (they will go up more and more) it actually could ruin the economy totally....

There was idea when you could be a miner - when you lvl up like labor guild but as a miner you could work at mines (2,3,4,5 hrs, in one enroll) it will boost ppl to motivate work in mines with less wage.

The economy works? All these factories (and others) don't have moneys cause no one buy items from its. People enroll untill money ends and the factory stop its production.

Factories like amulet of luck and defender shield work because its are good items for all combat levels and every lords buy 1 of it (anytime aonly to sell it in the market).

If all factories receive money, they will product every hour. If you can do a merchant mission every 3 hours I don't think it won't increase the demand. And u don't have to buy from the market if all factories work.

In addition, you can buy all items, but i don't think that invetory has this capacity (all Arts + All H arts + All MH arts etc). And the cost of all artifacts is high.

Anyway, it is an idea. If u like it, suggest here how to help the economy.
I like this idea.

The Merchant Guild could also give bonus for each level like other Guilds. You would also get more gold for your quests as you level up Merchant Guild.

The quests would only have you buy what are in high supply and not low supply items. These items could be anything from mining, machinery, production, or special trade items. Also to make this more than just an exercise in map clicking, thieves could ambush you and steal whatever you were transporting for that quest.

This would work well with the Police Guild idea where those players can escort you and fight thieves for you. But if that doesn't get implemented with this, then you can always just fight the thieves by yourself.

Have players run items to different parts of the map..maybe we could outfit the "Empress’s" army and help the game's STORYLINE.
This would stimulate the facilities as now everyone is aware of selling resources to facilities and its getting too competative

I don't think exp should be awarded.
if points are awarded i dont think they should benefit combat.,
