hi
i do vanguard of necromancer and in the end of fight the magi shoot the vamps and kill much of my units AND fought in meele against apparitions

| LOL you have to protect them, so you must stand between them and enemy. It is hard quest for a barbarian, much easier with hydras, bowmen volley or spells. You have to be lucky and kill those Apparitions fast. I would split the ogres to protect the magi and attack with 2-3 stacks of orcs from behind. Hobgoblins are not needed for this quest i think. |

try to split your wolfriders in 2. it will allow you to kill faster the apparitions. don't block your rocs, they have better initiative. leave your hobgoblins home because 3 of them don't do too much damage and they keep one position occupied for nothing during the settlement. finally, divide your ogres to protect the magi because they are more resistant.
i hope it will help. i might have said some stupid things because i've never been barbarian, but, judging from your previous combat, i think it may improve a little bit the final result. |
