hey folks,
I am quite new (lvl 4) and changed factions several times to see the differences between them.
as a dark elf it seems impossible to win for me (against orcs, knights, elfs... actually against all other lvl 4 opponents in a single duel).
what's my fault? do you have any strategy hints for me?
any DE here to tell me about their setup and way to move?

DE is the strongest faction at level4.
almost impossible to lose with them...
they are very weak at level5, but not at level4.
minos+ rogues are deadly at low levels.
i will look at your combat log, to understand why you are losing with DE. |

when he gets to close kill him with the rogues. they are very affective

ok, thx so far - should I reset my skills with a potion to get all on defense?
usually my rogues get shot until they're close enough to cause serious damage - and the minos are way too slow to get anywhere (even if I like their defense). hm.

ok i looked at your last fight:

you have made lots of mistakes, you could improve easily.
1st: don't use bandits. they are too weak.
use only minos and rogues.
when i was level4 i used max minos, then rogues (13 minos, 10 rogues if i remember)
2nd: split rogues.
use 5 stacks of 1 rogues, 1 stack with the remaining rogues, and 1 stack with all your minos.
you can use the stacks of 1 rogues to take retaliations for your main stacks, or to block shooters.
3rd: your rogues have 7 speed, shooters have 6 range.
by using a good placement, you can reach shooters while being out of their range.
in your battle, you took double damages from orcs, because you come too close to them.

if you want to lose all your battles, do like he said.
defense? why not, but i'd rather take spell power and knowledge for eathern spikes, or attack for rogues.
stay back and wait? you can't do that, you don't have shooters.
if you try it, your oppents will wait too, and kill you with orcs, bowmen...
protect bowmen? 10 bandits deals something like 3-4 damages.
they are pathetic, don't use them.
and if you still want to use some bandits, don't waste your time to protect them. |
thx a lot karsot, unfortunately I only can see the last moves before the duel ends if I want to see a battle from your warlog (maybe a premium feature?).
nevertheless I will try your setup suggestion and work out, if I can handle it better - thx! :) |

Agreed with karsot, except on one point.
use 5 stacks of 1 rogues, 1 stack with the remaining rogues, and 1 stack with all your minos.
If i remember correctly, i had better result by splitting my rogues into 5 stacks of 2-3 rogues.
This way, the ennemy shooters (or even melee troops) can't get full damage on rogues.
Better stick with Karsot setup vs knights. |

to be honest wEiRdO, if you want more exposure to the usage of DE, then go check out the top players in the DE faction or the top DE player at your level. observe how they play and come up with your own formation or you might want to "borrow" their tactics. it's difficult for people to instruct you what to do. because, then, you'll want the easy way of letting people instruct you whenever you end up with a situation which seems to be impossible.
watch how others better players play and learn from there. that way will be much easier for you. |
