This game is inspired heavily on the HoMM Series, most specifically HoMM 5.
Maybe we can list in this thread all the differences to Heroes of Might and Magic 5, except the obvious ones that couldn't be transferred because they would make no sense.

There are tons of changed of course, i would like to focus on the model/stats/abilities/names of the CREATURES of the different factions.

Here are my preliminary findings:

Gargoyle - both stone and obsidian gargoyle's models are from HoMM3
Barbarians - this race doesn't exist in HoMM5, it is based on the Stronghold faction in HoMM3 with Models for Orcs, Ogres from HoMM5 and Goblins and Wolf Riders from Homm3
Wolf Riders - have double strike even unupgraded
Name changes: the elvish shooters for elves/sylvan have different names

I'm not sure, but I think in HOMM5 treefolks don't have entangling roots - only their upgrades do.

Devils cannot gate in HOMM5
Skills are called Talents here. based on probability in HoMM, but based on point in LWM. possible to learn any type in HoMM, but choices are limited for each faction in LWM

In HoMMV ranged retaliation fires after double shot, here it fires in between.

devils can gate. there are no plasma dragons.

Deals unholy damage to all creatures on a battlefield except undead and infernal ones.

Puppet Master - Cost: 18

Gives the hero temporary control over the selected enemy creature. Creature under this spell can't counter-attack. Control will be lost if the unit is attacked Puppet Master is cast on another target. (The spell does not work on undead, elemental and mechanical units).

The target's Initiative is multiplied by 0.03*Power during the control (0.01*Power with no mastery). The multiplier can not be greater than 1. Duration depends on the caster's mastery.
Actually we don't have any level 4 and 5 spells ... yet.

"Expert Gating: Unique Demon Lord skill. All infernal troops except Devils and Arch Devils are granted an ability to gate into infernal plane to bring reinforcements back to the battlefield."

I dont know what you mean by "Ultimate gating", might be an ability that I dont know about. But Arch Devils can summon Pit Lords :-D

There is an item that increases your racial skill, so if you already have expert you get ultimate.
And ultimate gating gives demon immediate gating :)
in spells they didn't give necromancers the lv1 spell sorrow in lwm
and also in homm5 heroes have special abilities like vampire prince or avater of death and so on
