New Private Mail Suggestion

AuthorNew Private Mail Suggestion
One of the options players have available when receiving an offensive or annoying email is to "Delete email and Block Author"

I would like to request other options.

1. Keep Email and Block Author. - Why? If someone offends a player that player may want to keep a record of why they were offended.

2. Forward Email and Author to LordsWM Administration. - Why? Sometimes players get offensive emails that may require immediate action. <Admittedly this may clog up an Administrators time so I am not expecting miracles on this one.>

The reason I am making these requests is due to the frequency of emails I receive from players (I don't know)who think I owe them a "loan" (that they will of course never pay back).

Some of these players (beggars) are experienced and are not of low level eg Level 7. Some of these players are clearly expert Cons who make these requests of players frequently, and some of them I have a sneaky suspicion have refined the art of Illegal Transfers in the disguise of Blacksmith Services.

I am in the process of saving for a TGI. As this will take several months of minimal game interaction with my main character I think I deserve the right not to be harrassed by these clowns.

Cheers

One more : Players have option to publish the email .. ^^ then the other players can see the email ^^ I believe the admins can take care the system to show the email to public ..

While that may seem a good idea for this issue, you are proposing the public be allowed to see any email the recipient wants the public to see, for any reason.

This does "open a can of worms" as there would be many players making emails well within the rules that they want to keep private. Otherwise what is the point of having a public forum and a personal email system?

Concerning harrassment for loans there is a clear distinction that can be made.

Some clans (for example) provide as a service a Clan Loan. This loan can be in the form of gold, artifacts or other items/services. This is described as an "Invitation to Treat".

When a player or clan has made no such public offer, and another player asks for a loan or a service (in breach of the rules), as no "Invitation to Treat" has been made public then there is a good case of harrassment.

Cheers
You can just press reply, then type Secretary, and then delete + block author
Thats what i always do
Sorry for the missunderstanding .. but I mean that other players can see the PROOF and the example of what the should not do at private email .. I mean that breaks the rule .. If we can see transfer logs transparantly then we should be able to see the emails too .. :)

Now to original idea

1-2: there is an option for reporting already: press reply, put Secretary as reciever. PMing Admins with these things will only lead to them stoping reading mail altogether. And if you're not reporting abuser, why would you wish to keep the mail?

Well there is "Tiddle Tatting", and then there is a small problem that escalates into a big problem.

What about a player not wanting to be annoyed by another player, but would like to keep a record of the annoyance should things turn for the worse later.

There could be a series of events where one event alone does not warrant any action, but where the sequence does warrant a response by administration. So actually having a record would be useful.

When we are shocked by something we often have a reactionary response that we may regret later. If someone receives an offensive email their immediate action may be to block and delete. At a later time that person may have felt in hindsight that reporting the offensive material may have been better.

What if someone is harrassed by multiple Ids?

I guess what I am leading to is that "Block and Delete" is a very final loss of evidence.

Cheers
